Are Tottenham currently the most famous club in the World?

Posted on August 31, 2013 by Guest Writer

For the past three months I doubt you could have found a newspaper anywhere in the world that did not contain an article relating to Tottenham in one form or another. Initially talk was about the clubs failure to qualify for the Champions League and so Bale and a few other important players might be vulnerable to being poached by other big clubs.

To begin with it seemed that Bale was happy to stay irrespective of interest from United and Real Madrid and so Tottenham went about buying players to strengthen the squad and make a statement of intent, not only to Gareth Bale but Andre Villas-Boas who was also attracting interest from some huge and wealthy clubs.

As the days and weeks have gone by the media frenzy has really gained momentum as the Bale. Barnett, Levy, AVB, Tottenham, Madrid fiasco has rumbled on. Bale’s wish to join Madrid has been the catalyst but since then Daniel Levy has become the most important element in the move, he controls everything relating to the deal and in the meantime has overseen a buying frenzy to ensure that every Tottenham supporter will see this transfer window as the best in living memory.

As the weeks have gone by there have been untold references and pictures of Daniel Levy published, even a cartoon of the “angry man” in Spain but he has remained quiet, AVB has been the spokesperson and his press conferences have all been covered across the world.

It hasn’t ¬†just been about the sale of one player though as interest in buying some great players has also captured the imagination of the footballing world, Willian, David Villa, Christian Dembele, Hulk and Mata some of the players linked to the club who all seemed to have got away but also all the talk of the seven others that didn’t.

More football stories across the world have revolved around  Tottenham Hotspur more than any other club, whether the Madrid pursuit for a world record fee of Bale or interest in some great players from various Continents and their own record purchases.

From what everybody described as the demise of Tottenham with the loss of Gareth Bale, Daniel Levy has turned it full circle and has ensured that the club have strengthened their squad to an unexpected level with several great purchases as well as promote the club like never before. Christian Erikson when completing his move mentioned that everybody was talking about and was aware of the development of Tottenham and he wished to be a part of AVB’s revolution.

Tottenham are well and truly on the map irrespective of Bale’s departure and as well as all the talk from the likes of Mourinho, Redknapp(Arry), Fergie and Moyes that Tottenham are now genuine title contenders they are picking up enormous support from fans across Australia, USA and now South America and Asia.

Tottenham are on the move and if all goes to plan the whole football landscape is about to change, as we have said before the giant is rising.

The next few years are going to be interesting, AVB is the real deal and silverware is coming to the Lane, just not sure how important those successes will be e.g. title or cups.COYS
