AVB looks ahead to a bright Tottenham future.

Posted on September 14, 2013 by Tony

Yesterday AVB and Tottenham finally moved on from the summer outgoing of the Welsh Wizard as instead he spoke of the wonderful players brought  to Tottenham this summer, special talents like Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen are spoken of in glowing terms and are players he believes will develop into world class in the near future. Interestingly he is of the opinion that Tottenham and Manchester City were the most impressive and the more successful in improving their squads, at least of the top seven clubs, while also implying that Ozil was expensive and similar to a number of other players Arsenal already have.

As the season resumes without the worries or concerns of the transfer window any longer casting its shadow over the club, AVB again has a Norwich team to overcome at the Lane, not unlike the situation last year which resulted in a late equaliser for the opposition and more doom and gloom descending over Tottenham and more so his long term future.

AVB as head coach, the players and every Tottenham supporter must be looking at the names and quality within the squad and set to play for the club this season and cannot fail to be excited at the prospect of success, with the exception of short term injuries to Capoue and Lennon there is a full compliment to choose from( Adebayor is another story altogether) and a vast variety of abilities to call upon, AVB can literally put out two teams and there would not be that much to choose between either, although Soldado is clearly the main man for the lone striker role.

Now is the time to make it all count starting with three points at home today, blood another couple of players and put in the type of performance to get noticed. Everybody is talking of Tottenham almost as a yardstick for success or at least the potential for success, Brendan Rodgers yesterday stated that his Liverpool team were doing exceptionally well but had a long way to go and needed a few more transfer windows to match Tottenham in terms of quality and strength. Chelsea and Arsenal coaches, players and supporters all now openly talk of Tottenham and their players, clearly fearing the growing challenge, whilst there is little comment from the Manchester area at the moment that will change as Tottenham rack up the points.

In recent times the season for Tottenham has started now, game four, transfer window closed and it’s time to play catchup, Daniel Levy, Franco Baldini and AVB have changed all that, equal third is far better than we might have expected when it first became clear that our star was leaving, now we actually expect to be closer to the summit by the end of play today, no pressure then.

AVB has worries going into today’s fixture but it’s not about who to choose for the team it’s more about who to leave out, that’s how far Tottenham have progressed.
