Bale contract announcement imminent.

Posted on May 20, 2013 by Random Spurs Supporter

As predicted news of Gareth Bale having signed a new contract will soon be announced and will have the effect of dulling the disappointment of yesterdays results. Already some of the newspaper articles are anticipating the story but those with allegiances to to the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, United and City are already adding their own spin and suggesting that he will be allowed to leave next season no matter how Tottenham fare if offers over £50m are received, can you imagine that Daniel Levy would let him go to Chelsea or United, direct competitors, for a pre-determined fee, maybe abroad if at all.

I would probably admit that Levy might have made some sort of offer to the player should no progress be made next season, but assuming this new contract is for a further 4 years until 2017 if Tottenham are close to winning the title and qualify for the Champions League there is not the slightest possibility that he would allow his star player to walk away for less than he is worth. if at all. Gareth Bale whilst not currently on the same level as Ronaldo of the past few years does compare with the same player aged 23yrs and we all know that he finally left for Madrid for £80m. Daniel Levy is no fool where money is concerned and he might possibly agree that the player could leave with his blessing next year if there is no Champions League to look forward to, but if they do fight through to qualify he would never let him go at that point at least not on the cheap.

If Tottenham can fulfill his ambition for the next few seasons then there is very little likelihood of Bale leaving just yet, David Beckham left United at 28yrs and has managed to earn himself a nice few bob and a few winners trophies and Bale has plenty of time to do the same, including winning a few as a player at Tottenham.

For now he remains a Tottenham player and he will continue to be so whilst the club grow and improve, if all proceeds as planned then it is unlikely that a player, entirely happy in the football environment he is in, would leave before experiencing the new stadium that will open in the not too distant future.

Bale stays, that is all we are interested in for now, and the club will move heaven and earth to bring in the players needed to finally challenge the very best this coming season.
