Champions League chase far from over.

Last nights point at Chelsea could yet prove to be a point gained rather than two points lost come the end of the season, but only if Tottenham beat Stoke in their final away fixture of the season. Rafa Benitez was probably just as concerned with the draw as everybody associated with Tottenham, had they secured the three points it would have guaranteed a top four position and he could really tinker with the team for the Aston villa fixture on Saturday and chosen all the big guns for the Europa cup final on Thursday. My guess is that he will still play a weakened team and will bring in the likes of Terry, Lampard and Benayoun against Villa. I believe that the win at United along with last nights point probably leaves Tottenham with too much to do to catch Chelsea but Aston Villa are in a rich vein of form, have some exceptionally speedy players and know that a win on Saturday will guarantee their Premiership survival. In my opinion if Chelsea/Rafa juggles the team about too much then Villa are more than capable of earning at least a point and possibly even a win.

Much as I would like to see Wigan pick up any sort of result at Arsenal the reality is that they will lose in the last Arsenal home fixture of the season, and that will probably see Arsenal take back 3rd position. Going into the final weekend I expect that Tottenham and Chelsea will be level on points a further point behind Arsenal, that would be the perfect scenario going into the final fixture of the season(other than Wigan taking a point or three as well).

The last set of fixtures brings dangers for each of the chasing three, 6th placed Everton visit Stamford Bridge in what is going to be Moyes last game as their manager, Everton are also a tough team to beat and are certainly capable of earning a draw having managed to do so at Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal in the last month. Arsenal take on Newcastle in a tricky away fixture whatever the result of the 37th games of the season, depending upon what happens in those games Newcastle might need some sort of result to stay up or they might be safe, relaxed and set about finishing the season in style in front of their own supporters. Tottenham will face Sunderland, a team probably also needing a result to stay up.

Let me reiterate once again Tottenham must beat Stoke away or it will certainly be 5th place this year.
