Expected Tottenham lineup to face Swansea.

At long last Tottenham have the chance to show their own fans just what they can do as they prepare for their first competitive fixture of the season at White Hart Lane. A few players are recovering from minor knocks while a couple of others are searching for match fitness after recovering from long term injuries, Kaboul is closing on his optimum fitness level following a short spell on the pitch against Espanyol and 90 minutes on Thursday night, while Sandro played for an hour in the U21 fixture against Manchester City on Monday.

Thursdays performance was so simple and effective that there will probably not be more than a few changes from that starting lineup, my guess is that Walker will replace Naughton, Vertonghen will step back in for Younes Kaboul so as not to over tax him so soon after his return, Chadli will surely start on the left in place of Sigurdsson. Townsend must have earned the right to retain his place in the team after his MOTM showing on Thursday. For me the only area of uncertaincy is in central midfield where AVB is spoilt for choice, any three of Dembele, Paulinho, Capoue and Sigurdson would be impressive. With Sandro and Holtby also soon available to call upon once fully fit and Carroll continuing along his learning curve, the options are impressive.

My team selection for tomorrow would be  Lloris-Walker-Dawson-Vertonghen-Rose-Paulinho-Sigurdsson-Dembele-Townsend-Soldado-Chadli. Subs, Friedel-Naughton-Kaboul-Capoue-Lennon-Defoe-Carroll.
