We all have an opinion on the recent events at Tottenham but the decision has now been made and it’s back to business. We have a very winnable game tomorrow against WBA, a team who also sacked their coach last week and have a caretaker in place and are a team who have never won at Tottenham since the the Premier League was formed, in fact they haven’t won at White Hart Lane since 1984.

Some important players will remain missing because of injury until the New Year, Aaron Lennon, Jan Vertonghen and Andros Townsend are big misses but a more worrying situation is the continuing injury woes of Younes Kaboul one of only four central defenders. Perhaps Sherwood with his knowledge of the younger players might feel that one is ready to step up if needed, we shall see but might that be a position that has to be considered during the transfer window.v wba

In our last outing against Southampton the second half performance was much improved and encouraging from an offensive perspective but there are still numerous defensive issues to resolve before the trips to United and Arsenal but for now let’s overwhelm WBA and get some points on the table as well as start to mend the goal difference issue. I doubt any of us expect any changes to the back four and keeper while Soldado and Adebayor will be the strike force after that performance on Sunday, it’s in central midfield where the big decisions have to be made. will Dembele and Sandro have recovered from injury? does he retain Christian Eriksen? Lamela who needs games and worked extremely hard or Nacer Chadli who came on in his place and was impressive. so many midfield options and Bentaleb can no longer be dismissed.

Midfield overload can give a coach many fantastic different options but it can also give him problems, all his players don’t just want to play, some need to play to secure their place in the squad for their country for the upcoming World Cup in Brazil, the transfer window is around the corner and some players will be considering their options and trying to find out where they stand in the new mans plans.

My guess is that there will be no changes to the team that began at Southampton provided all are fit to start, with either Sandro or Capoue ready to step in for Dembele if he fails his late fitness test.

I agree with not tweaking the team for the West brom game but I would have Capoui in for Dembele.
