Luke Shaw not on the Tottenham wishlist.

With reports that Chelsea are expected to win the battle for Luke Shaw the Southampton starlet it is probably worth mentioning that Tottenham signed a young left back with huge potential in January by the name of Zeki Fryers, he was a player brought along by Manchester United and he even played a number of times for the first team including an appearance in the Champions League. Tottenham managed to acquire this player for about £1m, a fraction of the amount Southampton are seeking for a player a little younger with potential but still only just setting out in the professional game.

In addition to Fryers,  Benoit Assou-Ekotto is still at the club and whilst even he would admit he has had his first poor season for some years he still has many great years ahead of him and with a good pre-season and full recovery from injury will regain form again.

At left back it doesn’t end there for options available as Danny Rose will return from a very successful loan spell with Sunderland where he was acknowledged as one of their best performers and Young Player of the Season. Rose is still only 22yrs of age and will return to Tottenham probably expecting to be given the chance to take over at left back, he has taken a similar path to Kyle Walker who excelled at Aston Villa whilst on loan and has now made the right back slot his own at Tottenham and is pushing Glen Johnson at full International level.

Luke Shaw will not be coming to Tottenham and will probably continue his education at Southampton for a while yet, anyway he will undoubtedly only wish to join a club for Champions League football!!!!( sarcasm).
