Marca and Real Madrid finally admit Bale defeat.

Posted on July 03, 2013 by Tony

At long last Marca the Real Madrid mouthpiece has finally admitted that there is little point in pursuing Gareth Bale this summer. their headline reads “Bale on the back-burner” and the article goes on to say “Real Madrid has decided to put the Gareth Bale signing on hold. After receiving yet another “no” from Tottenham Hotspur, Florentino Pérez and his team have decided to call it a day, and now see the signing of Bale this summer as impossible. Daniel Levy, the English club’s president, is not open to negotiation, and faced with such inflexibility, reaching any sort of agreement is not viable.

Gareth Bale is not Luka Modric. The Welshman has done nothing to force a negotiation and help get Real’s foot in the door. He says that he’s very thankful to Tottenham and that he’s happy where he is.”

There might be even better news on the Gareth Bale saga as there has been some unconfirmed reports that he is about to sign a massive new contract worth something like £170k pw, if so this will surely include another years contract extension but might be aligned to involvement in the Champions League. Let’s not think about that scenario just yet as the feeling amongst supporters is not just a top four position but some sort of silverware, and that doesn’t just mean a cup but a concerted effort on the title itself.

Paulinho in the bag, David Villa all but signed and 8 weeks left in the transfer window. Daniel Levy is now finally showing the ambition needed and that Tottenham deserve brought on by the belief that the squad is now led by a truly world class coach in Andre Villas-Boas, thank you Chelsea I have a feeling that Tottenham and all their supporters shall be eternally grateful for the gift of AVB.
