Mourinho- “Spurs were kings of the window”

Posted on September 14, 2013 by Random Spurs Supporter

Jose Mourinho has spoken of the outcome of the transfer window and the six clubs expected to fill the first six positions in the league, he believes that this could turn into the most exciting title race in years after acknowledging that every one of the six, Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool have in their own way improved in this transfer window. His take on the situation seems to be as follows:

Manchester United have merely tinkered with a winning squad and simply added midfielder Fellaini to the mix, a case of continuity perhaps being the best option for the new man Moyes.

Manchester City spent well and apart from the sale of Tevez actually brought in much more talent and players at the peak of their powers, City will be extremely strong and there are few doubts that anybody would disagree that they should be one of the favourites.

Mourinho has made clear just how highly he rates Ozil and because of him Arsenal will improve upon last seasons form. Arsene Wenger has already used the continuity argument, at this early stage of the season it was apparent in the North London derby and quite possibly the difference between the two teams.

Nobody, least of all Mourinho, can now doubt the improvement that Brendan Rodgers has brought to Liverpool and he acknowledges how far they have improved over the past year, with some shrewd additional purchases in January and again this summer. Whilst not exactly the surprise package, three wins including victory over the Champions is perhaps a little more than most expected .

Whatever the situation that exists between Mourinho and AVB he was full of praise for Tottenham the club, “Tottenham lost the player of the season in the Premier League,” the Portuguese boss said. “They bought incredible and spent an incredible amount of money. They were my king, in spite of losing Bale. They have two teams and that’s fantastic.” fulsome praise indeed, which sets up the game between the two clubs nicely.

Whoever actually came out on top in this transfer window will not be discovered during this round of fixtures, you would expect that continuity will count for those teams that have it in the early stages of the season, while it will take time for teams that added lots of players to find their feet. the position come November/December will tell us much more .

Around december/january, teams will know where they belong. Brilliant individuals doesnt win the league but brilliant team does.

I agree that a brilliant team does win the league but no team made up of mostly average players and a couple of stars ever won it, so arsenal stand no chance. that’s why we are all so encouraged that spurs will challenge as soon as the team gels because it is made up of many brilliant individuals and not one particular star. you might just as well admit all you gooners fear the worst and that spurs are in the ascendany, it’s been coming for a while now and is the reason all the haters of wenger and the board were out before they came up with a simple plan to shut you all up. buy ozil at all costs.now you are all talking about benzema and di maria in january, do me a favour, in jan they will still be chasing trophies with RM and be in the champions league whereas that’s no foregone conclusion for you.hopefully you can finish in 3rd place and try and stop us winning the UEFA Cup.
