Moyes replaces AVB as favourite in the sack race.

Posted on December 05, 2013 by Random Spurs Supporter

As Manchester United slip to another defeat in what was once fortress Old Trafford and the champions slip twelve points behind the league leaders, if their is any justice in this world David Moyes will now become the subject of media hysteria. As the runaway winners of the title last season there must be massive concern that more than just the title is slipping away, a spot in the Champions League is looking further away than ever and things could and probably should be even worse.

United managed to defeat Arsenal recently but maybe fortunately, while whatever they might think and say they were second best on Sunday against Tottenham and definitely got the lions share of any luck going to come away with a draw. United have now dropped to ninth in the table and are not even in the middle of a bad patch as since the opening game of the season against Swansea they have not really hit a good patch.

How long United’s owners will put up with the possibility of failing to qualify for the Champions League is anybody’s guess, soon they will probably give Moyes their undivided backing and they will issue a statement that they can do without Champions League football in the event of worst case scenario but oh how that will hurt their pride.

United have another home fixture this weekend and another game that they should win against the resilient Newcastle United but the pressure will be piling onto to them, while every one of the United players knows how to win a title they now face a different challenge and one that many of them have not encountered for many a year, the battle for a top four position.

This is turning out to be one of the most difficult seasons to predict as City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham blow hot and cold, Southampton have now begun to fall away while Everton are now the team on the move. There promises to be many more twists and turns before the year is out but the man under most pressure is now David Moyes.

Very soon its going to be Hughes and Sam

  2. Jide says:

Moyes may have replaced AVB as the manager under pressure, but the media are making excuses for the current problems with Man. Utd. The same excuses they failed to give to AVB. “David will get it right” the buffoons have been saying, “he only needs a bit of time!”
