Paulinho signed, onto the next.

At long last the signature of Paulinho is secured and Tottenham can move onto their next transfer target which seems almost sure to be David Villa. It appears that Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker and possibly Emanuel Adebayor could be leaving quite soon with Sunderland, Stoke and Fulham keen on The Hud, QPR and ‘Arry favourites for Scott Parker and Ade a target for Besiktas. In my opinion all three would be good signings for all the clubs mentioned, all have had their great moments with Tottenham and should they leave it will be with regret from most supporters. Should they move on the fees associated with them will go a long way to funding the Paulinho deal and will reduce the wage bill by a significant amount, the savings will be needed to bring in the right players and secure the services of players like Gareth Bale for the long term.

There has been plenty of speculation suggesting that Benni might be leaving Tottenham this summer even though AVB quite early on stated that he remains an important player for him. Recent interviews tend to suggest that Benni is still fully committed to the club and expects to remain this coming season, we know that Danny Rose returns and will challenge but there should be plenty of opportunities for games with high hopes in three cup competitions and the league.

There has been no further mention of the two young Croatians but having seen what they are about in short clips, both seem pretty special for such a young age. hopefully Franco Baldini has tied this one up nicely and they are players that come good for the club in future years.

Many articles have referred to AVB rebuilding the squad for the coming season, off the back of the best points total in Tottenham’s premiership history it is hardly a rebuild as most of the blocks are in place, it must surely only involve a bit of fine tuning, especially when you remember that Kaboul and Sandro will also be returning after long absences. More goals from offensive players to go with the extra power and pace in central midfield that the arrival of Paulinho will provide and Tottenham should be good to go.
