Premier League predictions 26/3/14.

Posted on March 26, 2014 by Eddie S

Last nights predictions brought just a one in three success rate though it took a last gasp own goal from Swansea to ruin that result, City made easy work of United who are going through a dreadful patch, if you believe Tim Sherwood who says that Tottenham don’t possess any world class players perhaps he might like to consider United’s predicament, they are a team that we are told have plenty of worldy’s, Wayne Rooney on £300k pw, Van Persie being paid well over £200k pw and their new boys Juan Mata and Fellaini, just where has it got them, struggling to maintain a hold on seventh so far. Perhaps Tim Sherwood should not look for excuses or knock AVB because of the impact of Bale last season as clearly there is more to winning matches than having world class players in your ranks.

Tonight’s couple of fixtures involve three teams yet to secure their Premiership future and Liverpool who still have the title to play for and so I am going to hazard a guess as to how I think these games will turn out though with very little confidence in doing so correctly.

  • West Ham v Hull 19:45
  • Who knows where this will go? West Ham have home advantage but last time out they were well beaten by Manchester United while Hull float somewhere between outstanding and poor.  Simply because of the extra firepower in the Hull ranks I am going to go for an away win by a narrow margin.Away win 2-1.
  • Liverpool v Sunderland 20:00
  • Gus Poyet really had sunderland firing at one point but the result of the Capital One Cup seems to have knocked the stuffing out of his team. I have been expecting Liverpool to hit a slump not unlike the one they suffered after Christmas but even though many have been expecting their defence to be the weak link and slip up there are no signs of it happening and their defenders are  actually contributing with goals to add to the numbers plundered by Suarez and Sturridge. Nobody in their right mind would give Sunderland a hope tonight and I am no different.Home win 3-0.
