Premier League Predictions round 13 (Sunday)

Posted on December 01, 2013 by Eddie S

The writer did fare a little better with yesterdays predictions with three correct results including a perfect score but Villa are still struggling and West Ham manage to pull a treble from the hat when least expected.Today another four games to consider and if other weeks are anything to go by one of them will bring some sort of shock.

  • Tottenham v Man Utd 12:00
  • The first game up is the most difficult to predict as neither side has been totally convincing yet this season. United probably go in as favourites being on a decent run of results and because they have such an impressive record in this fixture over the years. Tottenham at the moment are hurting from a couple of unexpected defeats and they are not helped by the impatience of some of their fans. ¬†Much will depend on the lineup chosen by AVB, he will need to make changes from last weeks lineup but resist tinkering too much with what has served him well in terms of results if not flair. Draw 1-1¬†
  • Hull v Liverpool 14:05
  • If there were to be an upset I suppose this would be the most likely as Hull have shown that they can be resilient against most teams. Liverpool with Sturridge will probably not be so potent an attacking force but should still have too much for a goal shy Hull team. Away win 2-0
  • Chelsea v Southampton 16:10
  • This is a difficult one to call as Southampton have performed so well up to this point, a great defensive attitude was undone recently against Arsenal with a gift of an early goal and the points. Chelsea seem to be blowing hot and cold but rarely setting the world on fire, they are likely to have Torres back today and will hope that he continues the form he was finding before his injury. Southampton will look to regain their defensive strength and will pressure Chelsea in midfield even so I take chelsea to pinch a winner. Home win 1-0
  • Man City v Swansea 16:10
  • Who in their right mind would want to be visiting Manchester City right now, they are ruthless in front of goal and have won every fixture at the Etihad pretty convincingly. the only hope Swansea might have is that City do not take the game too seriously and tinker too much with the team chosen. Unfortunately I think City might now be getting into their stride and will comfortably see off Swansea. Home win 4-0
