Premier League Predictions round 19.

Posted on December 27, 2013 by Eddie S

This is a crazy season with strange results occurring on a regular basis, the title race is wide open with no team yet looking likely to stamp their authority on proceedings.Every team is vulnerable at the moment and could win lose or draw at any given moment. Christmas and New Year is normally a time when a couple of teams make their move but the leader at the top is continuing to chop and change and it would be no surprise to see a third different leader before this year is out.

This is the best I can do before the set of fixtures coming up on New Years Day, but with more games to follow over the remainder of the weekend you can bet that there will be a surprise or two in store.

Sat 28 Dec 2013 – Premier League

  • West Ham v West Brom 12:45
  • West Ham are now really in the mire sitting just a point above bottom placed Sunderland and being the team in the worst run of form of all the bottom clubs. With the transfer window opening next week Big Sam will have to do his stuff and find some forward power and more if he is to pull the Hammers out of this predicament. West Brom. have sacked their coach but in reality the team is playing better than you might think, especially on the road. I think that we might see a new team at the bottom tomorrow. Away win 1-0.
  • Aston Villa v Swansea 15:00
  • Villa are dropping like a brick and could well be back fighting for survival very soon unless they can correct this slump, last years saviour is nowhere to be seen and none of their summer signings seem to have stepped up to the mark after an encouraging start to the season. Swansea have not progressed as much as many expected but continue with their footballing principles, they will have more possession but will they be able to turn that into goals is perhaps questionable with Michu injured. Draw 1-1.
  • Hull v Fulham 15:00
  • After taking a 2-0 lead against Manchester united Hull somehow contrived to give them a lifeline which they gratefully accepted, even at 2-2 Hull managed to spurn a couple pf glaring opportunities and strike the woodwork then handed United all three points. Fulham are certainly playing better and are willing to fight every inch of the way for survival and because of that this game could go either way. Home win 2-1.
  • Man City v Crystal Palace 15:00
  • Even though Palace have improved in every aspect of their game this particular fixture must be of some concern, City are trashing all the top teams although Liverpool recently gave them a run for their money. I am taking City to lead the Premiership going into the New Year and a big win on this occasion. Home win 5-1
  • Norwich v Man Utd 15:00
  • After a short break Norwich are back battling with the big boys for points and they face a United team on a good run of form and needing to win to continue their challenge for the title and a top four position. Even though the home team seem to have found a semblance of defensive ability and a goal or two this is not looking good for them. Away win 3-0.
  • Cardiff v Sunderland 17:30
  • Cardiff fresh from a terrible home reversal and the loss of their rock Malky Mackay up against a Sunderland team that inflicted only the second defeat on Everton this season and at Goodison. since gus Poyet took over sunderland have been prepared to fight and have some wonderful results under their belt. A team on a high against a team under duress can only mean one thing. Away win 2-0.
