Premier league predictions (Sunday)

Posted on February 09, 2014 by Eddie S

First up it’s Tottenham against Everton in the 1-30pm kick off, not quite a six pointer just yet but both clubs will want some sort of result. Tottenham with home advantage will be hoping to finally improve their form at White Hart Lane, on their travels their record stands up to scrutiny with the best but they have lost far too many points at the Lane.  Everton visit off the back of a hard fought victory against Villa following a beating by Liverpool, only their third defeat in the league all season. Martinez will set them up to be hard to beat  hoping to pinch a goal and all three points and they are very capable of doing so.

The result of this game might very well hinge upon the way Sherwood sets up the Tottenham team and whether his wide men produce on the day, width offered by Lennon and Walker on the right and Rose on the left has been very poor in recent games while Baines and Coleman have excelled in forward positions for Everton, Tottenham’s attackers must impose themselves if they are to gain the upperhand. This is a tough one to call Draw 2-2.premier league

The other game today sees a stuttering United up against a struggling Fulham in what promises to be a high scoring game, mostly going in favour of United judging from the defensive form of Fulham this season, they have a minus 31 goal difference already. Wayne Rooney has admitted in a recent interview that he believes it will be difficult for United to retain their title which drew a much laughter from all involved or watch football, United are in a battle to qualify for the Europa League and a top six position let alone the Champions League and  top four. Three points today will help tremendously and with a couple of big players returning from injury and £37m man Juan Mata in their ranks you have to fear for Fulham who look doomed at the moment. Home win 4-0

2 – 2, That’s code for “I’m not sure” or “I’m on the fence for this one” ?

Personally I think this is a 6 pointer and I think we must win this game particularly given home advantage if we are to have any chance of finishing 4th.

And with Lukaku out, I think Everton will lack goals.

2 – 0 is my prediction so long as we make a good start.
