Premiership predictions game 23

Posted on January 29, 2014 by Eddie S

I have to admit that I was happy with yesterdays predictions with three correct scores, a first for me this season, so it’s on to the remainder of the fixtures to be played this evening to complete this particular round. As was the case yesterday there are some vital games affecting the top and bottom of the division and this will ensure some changes come the end of play. Yesterday Swansea eased the pressure on themselves with a much needed win while Hull, perhaps surprisingly, slipped into the mire after having been relatively secure in the top half of the table just a few short weeks ago.

  • Aston Villa v West Brom 19:45
  • Home advantage and after what should have been a match winning performance at Anfield recently, Villa seem to have regained some form, Benteke is back and seems to have found his goalscoring ability once again and will be vital to Villa as usual. West Brom  have a new man in charge and are desperately need to put points on the board. It is probably a surprise to many that WBA are finding themselves in such a lowly position but I don’t see it changing after tonight. Home win 2-0.
  • Chelsea v West Ham 19:45
  • This has all the makings of a backs to the wall defensive encounter, West Ham will go to Chelsea hoping to hold onto what they have and set themselves up to frustrate the opposition. Chelsea are a little similar in that they are hardly flamboyant under Mourinho but they do possess a number of players with the ability to find a way in tight encounters. West Ham are in serious trouble and are unlikely to find themselves out of the bottom three after tonight. Home win 3-0.
  • Sunderland v Stoke 19:45
  • Two teams that seem sure to be in a relegation struggle until the end of the season. Sunderland have improved substantially since Gus Poyet took over the reins but it is still hard to know what sort of performance his team will put in from game to game. A home fixture against Stoke is a good opportunity for Sunderland, it gives them the opportunity to climb out of the relegation zone for the first time this season and brings Stoke into the equation. Draw 1-1.
  • Tottenham v Man City 19:45
  • The game of the night and an opportunity for Tottenham to exact revenge for the thrashing received at the Etihad, for Tim Sherwood to lay down his own marker for the job and for his team to announce themselves as real top four contenders. It is probably the opinion of most experts that Man City are favourites, along with Chelsea, for the title and one or other will almost certainly finish the day leading the table. Both teams are in a rich vein of form and the result will probably depend upon small moments and no little luck. Provided the officials get their decisions right and the game is not ruined by any moments of madness from them I have a strong fancy that Tottenham are ready for this challenge. Home win 2-1.

  6. classic says:

    • Tony says:

Are the City supporters turning into mouthy arrogants like their red neighbours before them? if so very disappointed when it is simply money and money alone that has elevated them.

  7. Eric says:

M sure he also supports Psg and till last season united too. It’s seasonal I guess

  8. classic says:

lol u are the mouthy arrogant team for predicting a win against the great man City

    • mick says:

Prick there was no arrogance just a belief that we could win which would have still been on after 50 mins had the score been correctly 1-1 and 11 players v 11 players as it also should have been. You might think having more money than any other team would be a big enough advantage without the officials helping as well.
