Wenger and Arsenal “Specialists in Failure”. 22

Posted on February 14, 2014 by Guest Writer

Only yesterday someone on this site commented that Jose Mourinho had become a little too big for his boots and his comments and even his voice had begun to grate on them, THEN his comments today about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger earns him some forgiveness and respect for speaking the truth about them from every Tottenham fan. Though he will deny it Mourinho is currently very vocal about the three clubs just behind his Chelsea team in the table, City and Pelligrini had already been targeted and their two results since he began earned them just a single point so now it’s the turn of Arsenal and Liverpool.

Spurs post match review. 0

Tottenham’s performance on Sunday could hardly be described as exciting, flowing, confident or convincing but most importantly it was a winning performance and the challenge for a Champions League place goes on. Most would agree that the three of Chelsea, Arsenal and City are safe in the race for a top four position, though Harry Redknapp’s suggestion that Arsenal might yet falter might not be so far fetched judging from their performance this weekend, if accurate then the final spot would seem to be between ourselves, Liverpool, Everton and United.

Premiership predictions round 24 (Sunday) 2

Posted on February 02, 2014 by Eddie S

Just the two games today and once again affecting the top and bottom of the division before the clash of the titans tomorrow. Yesterdays predictions were distinctly average but this season is proving to be like no other before and it seems likely that just as it will take a record points total that wins a top four position, a record high will also see teams relegated.

Cheating Chelsea says fearful Wenger. 5

Following news of the likely transfer of Juan Mata to a Manchester United team that has faltered and become easy prey to any team with sufficient belief, Arsene Wenger has publicly stated that he believes that the deal is as much a plot by Chelsea and Mourinho to manipulate the destiny of the league title. Coming so soon after Chelsea completed their two games against the fading champions Wenger has stated that he thinks the deal has been approved in an attempt to improve United sufficiently to pick up points when they play City and Arsenal so giving Chelsea an advantage in the chase for the title.

Ozil, Eriksen comparisons still wrankle with Arsenal fans 4

Posted on January 24, 2014 by Scraggs

Tottenham supporters have been more than complimentary about the performances and contibutions of Christian Eriksen since he secured a starting berth in Tim Sherwood’s team and rightly so, whether stating from the left or just behind a lone striker Eriksen seems to have found his feet and is providing goals, assists and creating lots of chances. As a result of Eriksens surge in form at the same time that Arsenal’s Ozil is finding things a little more difficult after his explosive start, some of the media has begun to question Ozil’s price tag compared to Eriksen’s, as we all know Tottenham picked Eriksen up from Ajax for around about a quarter of the fee Arsenal paid for the German maestro as a result it is probably fair to compare which club got the better deal.

Can Spurs really grab that top four spot? 16

With just seventeen games of the season remaining Tottenham are sat in a good position just a couple of points off fourth place although their goal difference probably accounts for another point lost as it has done in previous seasons. The teams immediately in front of Spurs are Everton and Liverpool who both have very different attributes, Everton are tough, resolute, difficult to beat yet under Martinez have also begun to play some excellent football while Liverpool have plenty of goals in them especially while Suarez remains fit or free of suspension.

Premier League Predictions Round 15. 2

Posted on December 08, 2013 by Eddie S

Another poor set of predictions yesterday but sometimes you have to wonder what is going on, this season is so unpredictable that you are hard pressed to know what is round the corner. United losing at home twice in the same week and for the third time already this season while Chelsea ship goals for fun and to the amusement of those of us who support a team without a billionaire backer. Manchester City remain unrecognisable while on their travels and really were fortunate in the end not to suffer another away defeat.

Despicable Me 3 featuring Martin Keown. 2

Quite why Martin Keown felt the need to comment unfavourably on a Tottenham player when apparently asked to do so for the Daily Mail most would have no idea. Why ask about Paulinho to an ex-gunner would make little sense unless the intention was to cause unrest and stir up more controversy. Even asking a player like Keown to comment on a player he knows little about who plays in a position he has no previous experience of, Keown a player bereft of any technical ability whose mental attitiude while on a football field was to stop gifted players by any means possible, including outside the laws of the game. Why not ask someone like Hoddle who has experience of playing in midfield and who was a Tottenham legend?

Reality check needed as AVB attracts more adverse reaction. 9

Yesterdays defeat at home against Newcastle was not the result expected or needed as it offered Tottenham another opportunity to close the gap to the top and climb the table. The reaction in the media and from many so called Tottenham supporters does though seem particularly unfair, yesterdays performance was not one of the best but nor was it as dire as reporting and comment seems to suggest, a few players did not perform to their potential but can we really blame AVB or the players themselves as surely much credit should go to a good collective performance from every Newcastle player.

January transfer window promises to be busiest ever. 0

Posted on November 10, 2013 by Tony

As the January transfer window approaches and clubs evaluate their requirements based upon form, injuries and what they might look for to consolidate their position or improve upon it, this particular period is likely to see more sales/purchases and a huge amount of funds change hands.
