ENIC and Levy must see this through now. 0

Posted on December 24, 2014 by Scraggs

ENIC the owners of Tottenham and Daniel Levy the club’s Chairman have both been on the receiving end of fans discontent during much of their time at the helm. Some criticism is of course valid as clearly mistakes have been made, both the owner and Chairman themselves would almost certainly admit to that, but though there is still running in the background the desire from some to see the back of both of them, hopefully the more reasonable amongst the huge, and still growing, Tottenham fan base will realise the progression they have overseen in a relatively short space of time.

Brazilian free agent striker signing wide of the mark. 13

Presumably because so many in the media continue to lament the fact that Tottenham failed to sign a striker during the transfer window two stories are doing the rounds as a result, the first is that Pochettino and Levy were so upset and disappointed at not securing the services of Welbeck that Baldini might be picking up his P45 soon and the second is that the Brazilian striker Jonas made a free agent a year early might be snapped up by a desperate Tottenham.

Sherwood already looking for new job! 6

After the second half capitulation at Chelsea Sherwood firstly placed the blame firmly at the feet of the players that he chose to start the game, something that is rarely effective and is always treated as the wrong thing to do if you wish to retain the hearts and souls of your squad, it is all very well to air your views and opinions behind closed doors but to publicly humiliate your own players probably spells the end for him and Tottenham’s entire season.

You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. 18

Let us hope that this saying does not come back and bite us as the Tottenham board and those that have the ear of the Chairman seek a replacement for AVB. already stories are beginning to appear suggesting that none, or very few of the summer signings, were of AVB’s choosing and that in fact he has not been backed in the transfer market from day one, one newspaper has even suggested that the deal for Moutinho as Modric’s replacement fell apart over just £500,000 in a £26m deal.

For Tottenham the season starts now. It’s over to AVB. 2

At long last we can all get back to the serious business of the Premier League, the transfer season is now behind us and with it the disruptive influences of Real Madrid and Gareth Bale, that episode is now behind us. The international break is over and at long last AVB and his coaching team can go about working with the squad and building teamwork.

What might Levy be up to on his favourite day? 2

With so much transfer activity having already been done over the course of the summer and finally the “big one” just yesterday we arrive on the last day, traditionally Daniel Levy’s most effective and a time when he generally pulls a rabbit from the hat.

Yesterdays result was obviously disappointing as was the sale of last seasons main man but irrespective of both of those events there is still much to be encouraged about. The Tottenham squad is still incredibly strong and just needs some time for all the players and the coaching staff to become accustomed to the requirements and abilities of individuals, they now all need to be moulded into an effective unit.

It’s been a busy week for Tottenham. 0

After a relatively quiet period following the early purchase of Paulinho very little happened at Tottenham for some time other than the failure to complete the deal for David Villa. For the best part of two weeks it was all about the discussions and negotiations for Christian Benteke which came to a head with the news that he had decided to sign a lucrative new deal with Aston Villa. Many Tottenham supporters were disappointed that it seemed penny pinching had cost the deal when in reality he was not even a Tottenham target.

Baldini’s first job, get Paulinho. 0

Franco Baldini was finally appointed by Tottenham yesterday and his first job must be to finally complete the deal for Paulinho from Corinthians. the pace, power and technical ability of this player is incredible, a real box to box player and destined to become a regular starter for club and country. During the Confederations Cup he has not only notched a good goal but has been a constant threat, against a decent Mexico side last night he produced another fine performance highlighted by a storming run late on that took him from his own half to the edge of the Mexico box, a few players were left trailing and he laid the ball off to create a chance for his team.

Eleven of Hearts will stay with the King of Clubs. 0

It seems that Gareth Bale has managed to register his heart logo surrounding the number eleven, the number of the shirt he plays in. This trademark is set to earn him a further £3m to £10m a year depending upon which article you read from. I would like to believe that this is more conclusive evidence that Gareth Bale is staying with Tottenham our” King of clubs” for the foreseeable future so as to ensure that he takes full advantage of his new trademark.
