Rumours of done deal for new Tottenham coach way off the mark. 7

Reports from Italy seem to suggest that the current coach of Italy Cesare Prandelli has agreed a deal to become the new man at the Lane immediately after the World Cup, the report in the Italian press from La Repubblica is probably simply yet more paper talk that has arisen from the Franco Baldini connection as Director of Football. Take a look at Prandelli’s achievements as a coach and you will see that he has a lesser success rate than Redknapp and Martin Jol in terms of silverware, in fact a couple of promotions is about it.

Ballon d’Or football’s equivalent of the Eurovision song contest. 2

Congratulations go to Cristiano Ronaldo who finished ahead of Lionel Messi for the first time in 5 years to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award, it might be somewhat surprising that he overcame Messi on this occasion considering the records that were broken by the Argentian for Barcelona and because Ronaldo’s team Real Madrid actually achieved nothing and won nothing, beaten to the title by Barcelona and the Copa del Rey by Atletico Madrid. Perhaps the biggest shock was that Franck ribery who actually picked up the domestic title and cup also ensured a clean sweep with victory in the Champions League.

AVB confirms Bale’s contempt for Tottenham. No excuses. 0

Defend him all you want but it has now been confirmed by no other than AVB that Gareth Bale has thrown a tantrum and refused to turn up for training, by doing so most sane person would probably consider that most of the leaked information might just have some truth to it.

AVB has stated that his actions are not acceptable and I sincerely hope that his parting shot from the club is a two week fine, more if it were possible. His contemptible actions and lies regarding injuries and love for the club and supporters is nothing more than a way of retaining his share of any fee because he refused to hand in a transfer request.

Gareth Bale has not been seen at Tottenham on the day of any fixture and only bothering to turn up to have imaginary treatment for his imaginary injuries, the most apt being the pain in the arse. Tottenham and his teammates of up to six years in some cases today prepare for their first home fixture of the season and Bale is nowhere to be seen, he is in Marbella preparing to sign a criminally gross six year contract that will earn him £310,000 every week, still it is only a short career. Please don’t tell me that he is not being disrespectful to the club, coach and players that believed in him and helped him to the one great season that catapulted him to superstardom.

“The signing will happen on the day that Mr. Levy wishes it to” Marca. 0

The latest news from Real Madrid’s puppet paper Marca suggests that they are at long last beginning to get the message, Perez might like to think that he always gets his man and whilst it might again be the case, they all now know that it is only if and when Daniel Levy says so, and only then on his terms.

Levy set to land £140m of improvements for nothing. 1

The crescendo is building as the news is about to hit that Daniel Levy has cemented his position as the greatest Chairman the game has ever seen. Already Tottenham have purchased four fantastic new players and all represent improvements on the players that have been released. As much as Tom Huddlestone and Scott Parker were appreciated by the vast majority of Tottenham supporters there is absolutely no doubt that Paulinho and Capoue represent a vast improvement in speed, stamina, power, aerial ability and quality, similarly the same can be said of Chadli for Dempsey while there is no doubt whatsoever that Soldado is a cut or two above the strikers Tottenham have and is probably one of the top ten strikers in the world.

Tottenham about to join the elite. 0

With rumours abounding of transfer deals about to be completed for the likes of Willian and Lamela, both of whom might break the club transfer record already shattered twice this summer, Tottenham are clearly intent on building a squad to eventually compete against the very best and that is domestically and in Europe.

A little over two years ago Tottenham reached the quarter final of the Champions League where they finished up comfortably beaten by Real Madrid, take a look at the team and substitutes on that day and then let’s compare to the current squad in terms of quality.

Carragher believes Suarez should sign for United or Chelsea. 0

In Jamie Carragher’s article in the Daily Mail today he suggests that Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is actually too good to play for Liverpool and Arsenal and if he were to leave it should be to a club not only playing in the Champions League but capable of winning it. He goes on to say that should the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich seek to buy him then Liverpool should not stand in his way. Obviously he did not actually say that he should be allowed to sign for United or Chelsea but by his own distorted argument that is what he implies as being a reasonable solution.

Should FFP also insist on transfer payments in full? 0

The most written about player pursuit of the summer has involved Real Madrid’s attempts to extract Gareth Bale from Tottenham. Just about everybody has had their say on the subject but most seem convinced that the richest club in world football will eventually get their way. It seems that Madrid are by now fully aware that Tottenham really do not wish to sell the player this summer but unfortunately all the attention has turned his head and he seems intent on leaving.

300,000 reasons per week why Bale is deserting Tottenham 4

Posted on August 07, 2013 by Scraggs

There has been some concern recently as to why Gareth Bale might be leaving Tottenham after two good and one exceptional seasons in more than six years at the club, it has been indicated that Real Madrid have promised him a six year contract and £150,000 per week, those discussions without permission from Tottenham and seemingly between the players agent and Madrid which is against regulations, that sum has always seemed a figure that could and would be matched by Tottenham in any new contract. For the past year Tottenham as a club, AVB and the squad have accommodated the strengths of Bale resulting in what seems betrayal by the player just as everything seemed to be falling into place.
