Tottenham will be stronger no matter what happens. 0

We are all disappointed at current events relating to the possible loss of the Premierships best player of last season, there has been talk of doom and gloom amongst supporters, articles written writing off the chances of Tottenham challenging for a top four position this coming season, in some cases even for years to come. There is little doubt that Tottenham will miss Gareth Bale if the call of Real Madrid is too much for him to turn down, always assuming of course that Tottenham and Daniel Levy allow the move to go ahead, but what did they say last summer when Modric, Van de Vaart and Ledley King left, all three players  along with Adebayor and Scott Parker were probably considered more important in that season when the club finished fourth. Gareth Bale chipped in with some goals and assists and plenty of exciting moments, he was again acknowledged as a very good player but he was not considered to be the star.

How the transfer season turned against Tottenham. 0

Just for once it seemed as though the transfer window was going to be one of relative tranquility for Tottenham, they snapped up Paulinho early on and had apparently laid the foundations for Chadli and Soldado to join well before the end of July. With those three signings most supporters would have been happy if nothing else happened and Tottenham went into the season as they were.

With the signing of Roberto Soldado, which will be finalised today, it was probably expected that most of the incoming transfer dealing would be all but over and the squad pretty much ready to go, one or two players would be expected to leave in order to pursue more first team action and create space in Tottenham’s final twenty-five man squad.

Every man and his dog is talking up the transfer of Gareth Bale to Madrid as the only sensible move for the player and the right thing to do for his career, many seem to think that he will improve as a player at a faster rate than he has at Tottenham, quite how that is possible with less playing time and having to fit into the team plans of Ronaldo makes little sense.

Zidane claims good Tottenham relationship! Tell them to poke it Daniel. 2

zidane claims that the clubs good relationship with Tottenham will help them seal the deal for Gareth Bale but they must go slowly. Well he might be surprised to know that he can poke his good relationship and Tottenham will keep Gareth Bale. Just why this good relationship should benefit them and not Tottenham is beyond me, Tottenham do not need the money and they are a club on the rise, keep the likes of Bale and the other big players that they have in their ranks, with the quality of the players already purchased and perhaps another couple including Soldado and they will be well set to challenge on a number of fronts.

So far a quiet day, some of the squad warmed up with a comfortable 6-0 win in Hong Kong to take third place in the competition, Jermaine Defoe started up front and helped himself to a hat-trick with other goals coming from an OG, Townsend and Dempsey. It was again a poor pitch but relatively safe after the Tottenham groundsman did his stuff and ensured that it was playable and more importantly safe.
