Posted on February 21, 2013 by Eddie S

For some time Barcelona and Madrid have been perceived as the teams to beat in the European Cup but for the second consecutive season both clubs are struggling, nothing is yet decided of course and both clubs could yet progress this season and go on and win the competition.

You have got to laugh, today the Barcelona President Sandro Rosell stated that he was shocked and disappointed that Manchester City should try to unsettle their midfield international Sergio Busquets by suggesting he was a target of theirs in the coming transfer window.

This must be a different Barcelona to the one that continuously stated their interest in a certain Cesc Fabregas, that particular chase went on for a couple of years and they even ramped up the unrest by having all of their high profile players express their wish that he join them. the same thing with Song and Sanchez amongst others in the past.

Recent reports from the Spain camp suggest that Barcelona are now monitoring Luka Modric and before long we shall hear that terms have been agreed as regards his wage demands.

We are not hearing whether Barcelona are prepared to pay the fee demanded by Spurs,we do hear that they do not have much money to spend,so are we expecting Daniel Levy to roll over and let Barcelona have our 2 top players Modric and Bale at a third of their value? highly unlikely but £35m might just secure Modric.

Did Guardiola turn down Chelsea for Tottenham? 0

Posted on June 14, 2012 by Tony

It was only a couple of weeks ago it was being reported that Pep Guardiola might consider the right project rather than take a years break, and most then expected him to be the next Chelsea manager.

Earlier yesterday Chelsea appointed Di Matteo giving him a reported 2 year contract, within hours Harry Redknapp was no longer the Tottenham manager, now is this a coincidence?probably, but I would think that all Tottenham fans hope that the next manager will be special and there is no doubt that Guardiola is the most successfull manager of recent times winning just about everything over the last few years.
