Sherwood deserves time! 7

Posted on May 02, 2014 by Eddie S

I have to admit that Frank de Boer has opened a can of worms and should have remained silent on the prospect of being considered, and he probably is only under consideration at this time, for the Tottenham coaching position that seems likely to become available once the season is over. Before his “leak”  Tim Sherwood had already run to the press to speak out against the likes of Van Gaal and Hoddle expressing their interest in the job even though that was  in December!  The timing of Sherwood’s outburst

Most of the transfer headlines surrounding Tottenham in recent weeks has seen plenty ofinterest from Italy in a number of  their players most purchased only a little over five months ago, it has come from Roma, Juventus or both of the Milan clubs. In almost every instance they have been prepared to offer a number of players in part exchange, usually players in the twighlight of their careers or surplus to requirements.

Today a new name has appeared as a potential target for Tottenham in their pursuit of a new striker, this one though is perhaps a little far fetched and stems from the players club as they are obviously looking to sell one of their assets for the best possible price. Apparently Christian Benitez “could be” a target, not,” is” a target or has been scouted, more a suggestion that because he has been the top goalscorer in the Mexican league and Tottenham are in the market for a striker then he might be the answer.

Tottenham are back, Chelsea were only “interim top 4” 0

With two top four finishes in 3 seasons Tottenham have now become seriously consistent at the top end of the table. On Monday in a pressure game away to London rivals Wast Ham a 3-2 win with a goal in the final minute at last enable Tottenham to climb above Chelsea for the first time this season. Monday’s result was no fluke either Tottenham were irrestible in their endeavours to secure the win needed, once a team with a soft centre and fresh from last seasons final 16 match collapse, Tottenham still tried to gift the opposition a point or three but were persistent and powerful. The Hammers keeper was the busiest player on the pitch and pulled off save after save. Even when many of us felt sure this game was going finish as so many other important encounters in the past have, the team just continued to increase the pressure, there was no sign of panic and certainly no gung-ho moments, just keep the shape and keep playing to the system.
