Spurs youngsters impress on International duty. 1

Posted on September 10, 2014 by Eddie S

A good number of Tottenham’s youngsters have performed for their countries during this break in the premiership season and most have done extremely well, Eric Lamela led the way with a superb goal on his return to international duty for Argentina as the replacement for Lionel Messi, a resounding 4-2 victory over the newly crowned World Champions Germany, that was his only outing and that gave him the opportunity to rest up a little before returning to training a little earlier than most.

Christian Eriksen earned his 47th cap aged just 22 yrs a quite remarkable number so early in his career, he admitted that it wasn’t one of his best as he felt he lacked sharpness but the result, a win and 3 points was all important and he returns to his club fit and well.

There is no doubting that brand Tottenham is beginning to grow across the world and nowhere faster than in the USA and Canada, supporters clubs are popping up all over and these clubs are not stagnating but growing and taking a full interest in all things THFC. Tottenham have enjoyed a growing involvement across the pond having linked up with Under Armour, but there are plenty of other reasons for that allegiance to exist and continue to grow.

Well it seems that Ben Davies will soon be announced as our first signing of the Pochettino era no matter how long it might last, a good brand of football, decent results and a better haul of points from the current top four teams will certainly suffice for his first season, though a decent run in a cup competition or two with perhaps a bit of silverware at the end of it will have us all eating out of his hand. No matter what most Tottenham supporters will be thrilled that a new left back will soon arrive and one that will probably soon take over the role permanently. Though Pochettino went on record to suggest a quiet transfer window perhaps he was just throwing us a red herring

If you take any news about Tottenham seriously then other than the new contract signed by Hugo Lloris keeping at the club until the next transfer window is just about as good as it gets. Pick up any newspaper or read any Tottenham associated article and there always seems to be a problem, even the governmental decision that should allow the club to proceed with the new stadium com with a “but”, but the decision made is still subject to appeal. Everyday the situation relating to Tottenham seems to be manipulated

Tottenham steer clear of transfer window madness. 0

With the official transfer window well underway it seems that just about everybody is going crazy as transfer fees and wages spiral out of control still further. With the Premierleague having an abundance of extra cash following the approximate £50m additional windfall for each and every club arising from the new TV deal just about everybody is keen to spend the money and not always particularly wisely.

Napoli have apparently given up in their pursuit of Sandro as it seems the Italian “giants” are not gigantic enough to afford the price Tottenham are demanding, though this is good news for the army of Tottenham supporters that believe Sandro is the best defensive midfielder at the club the report goes on to suggest that AVB and Zenit will be his final destination.
