Premier league predictions (Sunday) 2

Posted on February 09, 2014 by Eddie S

First up it’s Tottenham against Everton in the 1-30pm kick off, not quite a six pointer just yet but both clubs will want some sort of result. Tottenham with home advantage will be hoping to finally improve their form at White Hart Lane, on their travels their record stands up to scrutiny with the best but they have lost far too many points at the Lane.  Everton visit off the back of a hard fought victory against Villa following a beating by Liverpool, only their third defeat in the league all season. Martinez will set them up to be hard to beat  hoping to pinch a goal and all three points and they are very capable of doing so.

Tottenham in last day transfer madness! 4

The transfer window closes at 11pm this evening and by then we shall be treated to stories that will excite and disappoint but by the end of the night we shall be left with the squad to see us through the season and one that we hope has sufficient abilities and strength to cope with any eventuality that might befall individuals. Whether the three game suspension facing Danny Rose might concentrate the minds of Sherwood, Baldini and Levy into pursuing a left back remains to be seen, as surely if they unsuccessfully appeal the appalling decision on Wednesday they will not irritate Vertonghen and the fans by playing him anywhere but central defence for the remainder of the season.

Premier League Predictions Round 15. 2

Another poor set of predictions yesterday but sometimes you have to wonder what is going on, this season is so unpredictable that you are hard pressed to know what is round the corner. United losing at home twice in the same week and for the third time already this season while Chelsea ship goals for fun and to the amusement of those of us who support a team without a billionaire backer. Manchester City remain unrecognisable while on their travels and really were fortunate in the end not to suffer another away defeat.

Parker chooses Martin Jol over Harry Redknapp. 0

Tottenham have reached agreement with Fulham for the signature of Scott Parker and he is about to undergo a medical before completing a three year contract. Parker featured in 63 games for Tottenham in his two years with the club  and was on the losing side very rarely.

It is with regret that during his time with the Tottenham he did help the club to a fourth place finish but as we know did not make the Champions League due to unforeseen circumstances. Now he has moved on and is another player that supporters will remember with enormous affection and gratitude the only disappointment being that both he and Tottenham deserved far more than they actually achieved in his time there.

Arsenal hold Everton to give Spurs renewed hope. 4

After last nights deadlock at the Emirates Tottenham’s draw against Everton in their last fixture in the league does not look so bad, added to that is the knowledge that Chelsea will still have the same hurdle to overcome before the season is out. Before Totenham next take on Manchester City Fulham have home fixtures against both of our rivals starting with Chelsea tonight.

Yesterday the best case scenario was a draw which helped Tottenham tremendously in their pursuit of a top four finish, but whilst a draw tonight would be most welcome best case scenario for this one is a victory for Martin Jol and his Fulham team in what is a tough local derby, similarly another victory over Arsenal come Saturday would be just perfect.
