Since the transfer window opened a little over two weeks ago almost £300m has been spent on a succesion of player mostly from abroad, the big bucks have gone on players that have been working in La Liga for the past few years with Fabregas, Costa and Sanchez the pick of the bunch and all for fees exceeding £30m each. United and Liverpool have not been idol with players arriving from the south of England, Germany, Spain and Portugal, even the likes of West Ham

Captain Hugo commits to Tottenham. 0

Tottenham fans need not worry for the coming season as with todays news that Hugo Lloris has signed a new five year contract with Tottenham speaks volumes, our world class keeper has been linked with a return to France with moneybags PSG or one of the other big European clubs but he has quickly put an end to any uncertainty by signing a new 5 year contract and sending a clear message that Tottenham still mean business this coming season. All the adverse speculation can now for another year at least and the club can get on with the job of assessing and improving the squad for the challenge ahead.

Hugo dismisses Tottenham exit talk. 14

Tottenham’s real star of the season Hugo Lloris has apparently caught the eye of the richest clubs in France with both Monaco and PSG supposedly taking an interest in his services. As usual the press seem to be keen on selling the best that Tottenham have, following the departures of Bale and Modric in the last two seasons our star attractions at the moment include Lloris, Vertonghen and Eriksen, so they are sure to be the players at the  centre of transfer rumours away from the club over the course of the summer.

Do Tottenham really miss these players? 6

There are some that won’t let the Modric and Bale transfer dealings go away even though the team coped admirably without Modric last season and seem to be doing quite nicely without Bale so far this. Last season Tottenham managed to record their highest points total in the clubs Premier League history leading to a stellar season from Bale and ultimately his exit as a result of his form. Even now, or at least up until the Christian Eriksen show on Saturday, many reports written had fixated on the lack of a creative spark that a player like Luka Modric brought to the team and others the missing goals following Bales exit. spursThis particular picture has been doing the rounds of late, no doubt to wind up Tottenham supporters, whilst every fan of the club would rather both players had stayed at the time it wasn’t to be and we are left asking the question, should Levy have dug his heels in?

Lloris walks the walk and now talks the talk. 0

Hugo Lloris has talked up the chances of Tottenham finishing in the top four as well as winning the Europa Cup this season. The quiet man of Tottenham who only finally secured his position as their no.1 keeper a few months ago has obviously seen enough and believes in the squad sufficiently to talk up success so soon.

He believes that Tottenham have every chance of beating Inter Milan in the next round but is gracious enough not to write them off, he believes the winner of this tie could well go on to lift the trophy.

Hugo Lloris is Sweeperkeeper. 0

AVB was sacked by Chelsea in March of last year but did not sign for Tottenham until well into July, I firmly believe that Tottenham were probably in negotiation with their new coach even before sacking Harry Redknapp, players were being identified as targets to suite the new mans playing methology as it is unlikely that any team, let alone one where Daniel Levy handles the money, would spend such large sums on any player not specifically chosen by the new coach.

Lloris proving to be No.1. 0

Before and since Tottenham purchased Hugo Lloris for something between £8m and £12m, depending on which newspaper article you read, there have been doubts regarding his ability, strength and whether he would be up to the physical demands of the Premiership, well having encountered the masters of the aerial bombardment, Stoke, and their apprentices, West Ham as well as a stern workout at Sunderland yesterday it is clear that Tottenham have themselves a top class keeper.

Time for Lloris to take over as Spurs No1 0

Much as everybody admires the performances and age defying abilities of Brad Friedel the time has now come for Hugo Lloris to be given the opportunity to take over the reins as No.1 keeper for Tottenham. Had Friedel been even five years younger just the thought of buying Lloris would have been unthinkable but Friedel is almost 42yrs of age and he is on his last year as a Premiership goalkeeper, he has been a good acquisition for the club but has only been on the books for one season and so the loyalty card does not come into it.

Choosing Lloris a brave decision for the good of Tottenham. 0

Villas-Boas decision to choose Hugo Lloris to start his first game for Tottenham in the league was totally understandable and a good decision for the good of the club in my opinion. We all know that Brad Friedel has performed exceptionally well and has played in consecutive games in the Premiership for 8  years, truly impressive, unfortunately Villas-Boas as the Tottenham coach is not paid to take the easy decision as choosing Friedel again would have been. AVB is charged with taking Tottenham to 4th place in the league and beyond and to do that it was imperative to blood Lloris as he is to take over the mantle soon to be vacated by a 42yr old Friedel.

Lloris, one of the 5 best keepers in world v Friedel, one of the most consistent. 0

Ex United keeper Fabian Barthez has now chipped in being bemused with the treatment of Lloris by Tottenham. It is all beyond me,Hugo  Lloris signed for the club and was unable to play in their next fixture approx 15 hours later and then went off with the French side to play in a couple of World Cup matches and since then there has been constant comment from most of the reporters here and in France, the French coach and now Barthez all aimed at the treatment being handed out to him.
