How are the squads shaping up? 1

Posted on July 30, 2016 by Scraggs

Well we at JTN have enjoyed a nice long break and tried to avoid the farcical transfer merry-go-round as much as possible without getting too involved. As we all know the press and general media whip up a storm with often ridiculous rumour as clubs go about re-shaping their squads for the coming season and now we shall attempt to put our spin on the situation in relation to the probable top clubs which now, rightly, includes Leicester with Tottenham now firmly established in that group.

It’s time for Tottenham to step up. 0

Irrespective of the loss of Gareth Bale To Real Madrid all at Tottenham had high hopes for this season because of the investment made in quality players, though in hindsight there were probably too many acquisitions, nevertheless we should remember that we were only pipped for fourth spot by a single point last summer and with ten games still remaining we are just a solitary point worse off despite all the moans groans and apparent disasters that have befallen us.

Premier League Predictions round 16 (Sunday) 2

Posted on December 15, 2013 by Scraggs

Having stepped in for Eddie S yesterday I have to be happy with my predictions, five correct results and one perfect score has to be a good return from my first effort, although I got the City result correct I didn’t see another six goals from the home team but how nice it was after the Arsenal keeper had been so critical a few weeks back. Only three games today but anything could happen in any of them.

Thoughts on Tottenham lineup for Manchester United. 4

Posted on November 29, 2013 by Scraggs

Last Sunday Tottenham lined up against quite probably the strongest team in the division, certainly on their own pitch Manchester City not only have a hundred percent record but seem capable of scoring goals for fun against even the very best. Next up it’s Manchester United still not the team they were but steadily improving and on a good run.

January transfer window promises to be busiest ever. 0

As the January transfer window approaches and clubs evaluate their requirements based upon form, injuries and what they might look for to consolidate their position or improve upon it, this particular period is likely to see more sales/purchases and a huge amount of funds change hands.

AVB warning to Arsenal is no big deal. 0

As usual the tabloids use any sort of comment to sensationalise and try to cause a little more disharmony between teams competing against each other, if it happens to be between near neighbours with fierce rivalry so much the better, their fans will all take it on board and react accordingly.

Should Tottenham really fear Chelsea and United? 2

Having watched two of the favourites for the title battle their way to a goalless draw last night got me thinking that Tottenham really might have a shot at the title. Was there really so much difference between two of the favourites and this new Tottenham side.

Has the myth of joining a Champions League club been dispelled? 0

Posted on August 17, 2013 by Random Spurs Supporter

After every season ends we are force fed stories that some of the best players from clubs failing to qualify for the Champions League are likely to jump ship and seek a club that is involved, it gives players looking for an out a ready made excuse and is almost always given as a major reason for their decision. We have been told that both Bale and Suarez have made involvement a key issue and whilst it is obviously a very prestigious event to be involved in, very few clubs enter with any real possibility of winning the competition.

300,000 reasons per week why Bale is deserting Tottenham 4

Posted on August 07, 2013 by Scraggs

There has been some concern recently as to why Gareth Bale might be leaving Tottenham after two good and one exceptional seasons in more than six years at the club, it has been indicated that Real Madrid have promised him a six year contract and £150,000 per week, those discussions without permission from Tottenham and seemingly between the players agent and Madrid which is against regulations, that sum has always seemed a figure that could and would be matched by Tottenham in any new contract. For the past year Tottenham as a club, AVB and the squad have accommodated the strengths of Bale resulting in what seems betrayal by the player just as everything seemed to be falling into place.

City and Chelsea play fantasy football, AVB builds a team. 0

The two clubs that have underachieved in terms of the amount of money spent are both City and Chelsea, it is true that both have won important competitions but the clubs owners have not been satisfied and so Mancini of City and Villas-Boas, Di Mateo and Benitez have all paid the price. Even Mourinho was sacked because of the style of play and lack of European success.
