Will Tottenham take advantage of managerial merry go round. 0

Posted on June 06, 2013 by Guest Writer

With four of the top six clubs in England changing manager/coach this summer, a couple enforced and a couple because of dissatisfaction, it is hoped that Tottenham might take some sort of advantage from their own relative calmness leading up to the start of the season ( Gareth Bale/ Real Madrid fiasco apart ). Only ourselves and fourth placed Arsenal have managed to ensure a bit of stability which could be beneficial in the early stages at least.

Referee spot on with Nani red card. 0

Having just watched the United v Madrid cup tie I am a loss to understand the anger directed at the referee for an obvious decision and a correct decision. Irrespective of intent or not it was always a dangerous tackle and totally deserving of a straight red card.

We almost always hear from players and their managers following a red card that the player disciplined does not have a malicious bone in his body and that the tackle/incident is accidental, that is almost always the case but because of that the element of intent is obviously not a part of the decision and so cannot be used as a defence.

United cast-offs not on Tottenham wishlist. 0

Manchester United are said to be willing to part with Nani and Anderson and because Tottenham have money to spend and positions to fill they are the obvious choice for players no longer wanted by United. Unfortunately as a club Tottenham are now closing the gap on United having eclipsed Liverpool for 3 seasons now , Chelsea last season and they were also within a point of Arsenal and should really have left them trailing in their wake also. No longer are cast- offs of the top teams good enough for Tottenham as the aim is to reach the summit or at least give it their best shot.

Why would Modric leave Tottenham to go to ManUtd 0

Well we cannot deny that over the past 20years Man U has been the place to go to win trophies, with the odd period of supremacy for Chelsea and Arsenal, but times have changed, where once United called the tune with finances Chelsea and Man City now dwarf them.

As well as the financial situation it would seem that Fergie is likely to retire sometime soon and there is no guarantee that a new manager will take them on,think Busby and the lack of real success post Busby.

Spurs and Levy up the stakes for Modric 2

Posted on June 09, 2012 by Tony

And so the game begins,it now appears that yesterdays reports of Spurs agreeing £25m for Modric may have been a little premature, the same sources are reporting that Spurs want AT LEAST £35m now, which in Daniel Levy language is more than the £40m supposedly offered by Chelsea last year.

Modric still has 4 years to run on his contract and so Daniel Levy and Spurs really do call all the shots as to if they release him and for how much.

Tottenham should have sold Modric to Chelsea last summer! 1

The news is surfacing today that Tottenham and Man United have agreed to do a deal for Luka Modric at the paltry price of just £25million, and he will earn around £125,000 a week.

That doesn’t stand up well with the £40 million on offer at the end of last summers transfer window from Chelsea which was flatly refused by Daniel Levy.

To make it worse Chelsea probably made certain that Modric would be leaving by beating Bayern Munich in the Champions League final thereby demoting Spurs to the Europa League. You can bet your life Modric said last year that if we failed to make the Champions League he’d be off!
