Schneiderlin transfer a step closer! 0

Posted on August 08, 2014 by Random Spurs Supporter

Tomorrow friendly fixtures arranged give clubs the last opportunity to prepare for the first game of the season starting the following weekend, with the World Cup having cut into time available to prepare for those involved the news from Southampton Head Coach Ronald Koeman in relation to Morgan Schneiderlin might soon prove to be significant, the player is apparently not in the right frame of mind to be involved and has been given the weekend off and away.

A little reminder to all you who want your Tottenham back. 5

As we approach December and with less than a third of the season gone Tottenham are apparently a club in trouble and the man in the firing line and responsible for their demise is Andre Villas-Boas, the media are already putting forward names to replace him while the odds are on him being the next to be sacked. The longer Daniel Levy delays the decision to sack this failure the less the chances Tottenham have of escaping relegation and they might still hope to have a run in the last cup remaining the FA Cup which stars for them in January.

Modric Madrid move not working out yet. 3

And so another game and another 90 minutes spent sitting on the bench is probably not what Luka Modric had in mind when he signed for Real Madrid. Many will point to a lack of pre-season due to the never ending saga but Clint Dempsey was in the same boat and he has completed a few full games now.

As far as I can make out Modric managed to make an appearance from the bench for Madrid in the Champions League against Manchester City and then appeared in the starting lineup in the following two games only to be substituted around the hour mark and since then he has really just warmed the bench, his only other appearance being as a late substitute against Sevilla.

Madrid partnership part of Modric deal, what’s that about? 0

Posted on August 27, 2012 by Tony

Finally an agreement has been reached for Modric to join Real Madrid and this sorry saga can now be put to bed, or can it? what is this partnership that Tottenham have formed with Madrid all about, it is highly likely that there will be a friendly or two between the clubs at an opportune time and probably on a regular basis for some time, this will swell the coffers of both clubs, might there be an agreement that if the player does not fulfill expectations he will be loaned back or Tottenham will have an agreement to buy back the player(probably not bearing in mind he has been treated like a slave!! ) maybe in the future players surplus to requirements or seeking game time will be loaned between the two clubs? Jenas for Higuain would be nice.

Modric fee just gone up to £45m. 2

PSG have just agreed a fee of £35.5m for Lucas Moura a 19yr old Brazilian who has played all of 59 games for his club, some of which might well have been as a substitute, he also has 15 games credited to his name for the senior International side although it is not clear how many he has started or finished.

Modric will leave Spurs today! 1

Posted on July 31, 2012 by Tony

Well let’s hope so as I think everybody is just about sick of Modric to Madrid in the follow up to the series of Modric to Chelsea last year.No doubt next summer when things have not worked out as planned it will be series 3 of this soap opera, Modric to return to Tottenham where he felt at home and as one with the fans and played his best football!!!

£36m agreed?Luka set to leave Spurs. 0

Posted on July 29, 2012 by Tony

And so it seems the saga is finally coming to an end as it appears that a fee of £36m has finally been agreed and thats pounds and not euros. It is probable that there will be add-ons to that as well,  possibly even a loan or two,  we shall see.

Daniel Levy as alwways has done the business, yes he probably could have got a bit more if sold to Chelsea or City but he stuck to his word in that he refused to sell to a competitor, Modric will not be coming back to haunt us until we return to the Champions League next year we hope.

All respect for Luka Modric has gone 1

Posted on July 21, 2012 by Scraggs

Last year it was his dream to play for Chelsea this year it is another dream and it involves Real Madrid but in all this he states that he has to much respect for Tottenham Hotspur to put in a transfer request,WHAT CRAP he is only interested in the money or rather the loss of his percentage if he puts his request in writing.

Spurs off to USA soon will Modric be with them? 0

Posted on July 20, 2012 by Tony

Tottenham are due to fly to America soon for their first game on the 24th July, after yesterdays return to the camp of Modric it will be a defining moment in my view if he actually accompanies the squad.Reports are appearing today that Madrid are only prepared to pay £27m and they should then be told in no uncertain terms that unless the amount required is met by the time they set off then he will remain a Tottenham player for the coming season.

Real Madrid can’t afford Modric! 1

Posted on July 07, 2012 by Tony

Luka Modric stories of the past 12 months have really become a little bit far fetched and wearing on the brain. The latest that the deal has been agreed between him and Madrid and Spurs are the problem because they won’t agree a fee is absolutely laughable, firstly as a player under contract to Tottenham for a further 4 years, until Tottenham accept a fee in principle and give him permission to discuss terms with another club then Madrid leave themselves open to investigation, secondly any suggestion that Madrid can’t afford £40m for a player is ridiculous, only a couple of years ago they paid £80m for Ronaldo from United and as far as I am aware they have purchased nobody thus far.
