ENIC and Levy must see this through now. 0

ENIC the owners of Tottenham and Daniel Levy the club’s Chairman have both been on the receiving end of fans discontent during much of their time at the helm. Some criticism is of course valid as clearly mistakes have been made, both the owner and Chairman themselves would almost certainly admit to that, but though there is still running in the background the desire from some to see the back of both of them, hopefully the more reasonable amongst the huge, and still growing, Tottenham fan base will realise the progression they have overseen in a relatively short space of time.

Pochettino turned it around. 6

Though there was much more urgency about last nights performance from the off there was insufficient creative ability within the team and far too many simple mistakes made, clearly nerves are getting to some Tottenham players, a worrying sign when that happens at home which is so reminiscent of the period leading up to the exit of AVB last season, that’s not going to happen this year but it will take a couple more decent results and performances to cure the problem.

Tonight we see what Pochettino is made of. 0

Off the back of three disappointing results and with performances actually deteriorating tonight is a real test for our new coach, probably one of the last things any observers of teams he sends out is that they would lack fight or that they would seem incapable of any meaningful creativity, those are the obvious problems that he must ensure that any future teams chosen and his coaching staff need to resolve. The trip to Sunderland at least saw a performance of verve and domination with lots of chances created and it was the late capitulation that brought about the disappointment of only a single point, since then he chosen two very different teams for different occasions and they have failed to ignite.

Pochettino is for evolution not revolution. 0

Tottenham bought 6 players during the summer transfer window though only 5 are currently with the squad as Deandre Yedlin continues his education in the MLS until the end of their season. All of the players purchased were acquired for their defensive qualities as Pochettino clearly recognised that this was the part of Tottenham’s game most in need of overhaul and he was right. Interestingly despite adding all this defensive quality to the squad he has so far resisited making wholesale changes to the team.

Tottenham Talk of the Day. 1

Once again it seems that Franco Baldini has upset the Tottenham coach of the day and so his head is once again on the block according to the Mirror, apparently his failure to secure a striker during the transfer window was one of the main reasons with Bony, Remy and the last ditch attempts to sign Welbeck the bone of contention. Of course as usual this is complete rubbish as though an enquirymight have been made for Bony they were over very early in the window allowing time to seek an alternative, if Remy was a true target, which I doubt, he was there for the taking once Liverpool pulled out a full 5 weeks before Chelsea stepped in.

Three points Pochettino deserved with brave substitutions. 7

The day started off comfortably as Tottenham dictated early possession though some of the good work was undone by sloppy play and overambitious passes. By the time Kyle Naughton was sent off the Hammers had taken a little more control than was good for us, even so the penalty decision was a little harsh while the red card was absolutely ridiculous. there was absolutely no intent and no chance whatsoever of avoiding being hit by the ball., I see an appeal coming up.

Tottenham ready to go again. 0

This time last year Tottenham supporters were experiencing very mixed emotions, high expectation and extreme hope for the season about to get underway. Just the season before a record points total had been accumulated and our own Gareth Bale had at last had a breakout season becoming a great player, goalscorer and gamechanger, he had always been a bit special but now it was different. Bale and the new signings were still expected to lead our challenge though the interest of Real Madrid earlier dismissed as papertalk was starting to become a reality.None of that changed a thing, AVB had started to prove himself, we had some new big name additions and there was the promise of more to come even if Bale left.

New coach, new season, new era and time for our supporters to turn up the heat. 3

Today we get the chance to welcome our new coach and his staff to White Hart Lane in what is the final warm up game before the season gets underway next weekend. While the team has been on tour it is fair to say that we have been reasonably impressed with what we have seen so far, every player involved has shown some good form and one or two exceptional improvement. The style and swagger seems to be evident at times though every supporter attending today should take into account that there is still a long way to go.

Why the Tottenham negativity? 9

As we approach the start of the new season it certainly seems that a huge percentage of Tottenham fans like what they have seen so far from Pochettino and the squad, the playing style is to our liking, the team offer an offensive style of play with quick incisive attacks and our creative players are being given a platform to really perform. Every Tottenham supporter was only too well aware of what was needed to mend what was at times a porous defence, it didn’t just include buying the right players but also employing the right tactics and players in our squad to implement those tactics.

No logic to players linked to Poch. 2

Even before the appointment of Mauricio Pochettino the journo’s were going crazy with Tottenham transfer talk and now it is stepping up a gear with four or five potential purchases from his old club Southampton on the cards, the reality is that only two really make any sense, Shaw being an obvious requirement at left back for years to come and Lovren as a replacement for Younes Kaboul who we assume will be allowed to leave due to injury issues.
