Can English clubs really hope to compete in the Champions League? 3

Bayern Munich travelled to face their nearest rivals Dortmund yesterday and managed to win by a rather flattering scoreline of 3-0, they lead the table having racked up eleven wins and two draws already this season. Bayern haven’t lost a league game since October 2012 which is a sad indictment of their league at the moment even though two of their teams battled for the trophy in the Champions League final last season.

Barcelona next for AVB? 3

AVB still has much to do before he can be satisfied with his work in London and whilst employed by Tottenham, Champions League qualification and a trophy is the aim for this season and if successful then we shall just have to see where it takes us next. AVB has often spoken of his ambitions for the future and has been clear in that  remaining a football coach is not in his long term plans.

Has Perez already realised Bale fee was too much. 2

For the past twenty-four hours the Real Madrid president has been telling everyone who will listen that he managed to buy Gareth Bale on the cheap, that’s £86m cheap by the way. Quite why he has chosen to reveal this information is a little mysterious so soon after the player has signed for them and with just a couple of brief appearances to his name.

The wolves are circling around Bale. 2

Gareth Bale has not even been able to meet his teammates or be involved in a training session following his move to Real Madrid and already all the talk surrounding his move is negative.

His own teammates are up in arms over the sale of Mesut Ozil who has made way for Bale, not necessarily positionally but to make room in the squad, balance the setup and more importantly raise funds to offset such an enormous outlay.

When Tottenham become Champions League regulars Levy will have Perez in his sights. 1

When you consider how far Tottenham have come in the ten or so years that Daniel Levy has been in charge, it is not difficult to envisage what a formidable Chairman he will become once Tottenham are an established Champions League team and the new stadium has been built.

Did Real Madrid use European Union money to help with Bale purchase? 0

A Belgian Euro MP has asked the European Commission to look into Real Madrids purchase of Gareth Bale as it is believed that money was borrowed from Caja Madrid, who are a part of Bankia recently baled out by European Union money with an 18bn euro loan.

With debts of 600m euros, even though Madrid are financially stable they are surely building a squad outside the rules and regulations of UEFA’s own Financial Fair Play regulations and possibly it now seems against European Union regulations.

Levy stands firm as Tottenham create winning squad. 0

The Gareth Bale saga continues to rumble on as Tottenham supporters continue to be bemused by the entire affair. At the outset there was anger and a sense that the attempt to buy Bale was wishful thinking on the part of Madrid, that then turned to amusement as comical stories began to appear in Marca and were taken up by every British tabloid and media outlet, the amount needed to secure his services grew from £50m and rapidly passed the current record fee and seems set at somewhere in the region of £105m as we speak. United and PSG interest has come and gone at various intervals but it has always been all about Real Madrid as everybody associated with them have publicly courted the player.Apart from the occasional reference from AVB stressing that Bale belongs to Tottenham and they are counting on him for next season there has been precious little from the player or Daniel Levy, in actual fact there has been nothing.

Some Madrid players don’t want Bale! 2

For the past month or more player after player at Madrid has gone on record wanting, encouraging and talking up Gareth Bale in an attempt to turn his head and force a transfer to their club, they have followed the Perez and Zidane line, eventually it seemed that Bale also wanted it to happen and that it would just as soon as the money demanded was on the table. About a week or so ago the clubs supporters voted in huge numbers against spending more than 70m euros on Bale but instead continue to concentrate on their hero Ronaldo, even Ronaldo himself refused to sanction the need to sign Bale and since then both the new coach and more players have expressed their dissent on the issue.

Madrid attitude changing over Bale pursuit. 2

It certainly seems that some pressure has been lifted in the past week in relation to the pursuit of Gareth Bale, shortly after Madrid’s supporters polled 93% against the club spending more than 60/70m euros on Bale, rating him way behind their current hero Ronaldo, soonafter that Perez himself began to publicly doubt that he was worth that sort of fee, strange bearing in mind both he and Zidane had previously suggested money was no object in order to secure his services.

Should FFP also insist on transfer payments in full? 0

The most written about player pursuit of the summer has involved Real Madrid’s attempts to extract Gareth Bale from Tottenham. Just about everybody has had their say on the subject but most seem convinced that the richest club in world football will eventually get their way. It seems that Madrid are by now fully aware that Tottenham really do not wish to sell the player this summer but unfortunately all the attention has turned his head and he seems intent on leaving.
