What might Levy be up to on his favourite day? 2

Posted on September 02, 2013 by Guest Writer

With so much transfer activity having already been done over the course of the summer and finally the “big one” just yesterday we arrive on the last day, traditionally Daniel Levy’s most effective and a time when he generally pulls a rabbit from the hat.

Yesterdays result was obviously disappointing as was the sale of last seasons main man but irrespective of both of those events there is still much to be encouraged about. The Tottenham squad is still incredibly strong and just needs some time for all the players and the coaching staff to become accustomed to the requirements and abilities of individuals, they now all need to be moulded into an effective unit.

Bale sold but here’s three we bought earlier. 0

The rumours are getting louder and louder even to the point that Gareth Bale has been sighted in Madrid and might well be undergoing a thorough medical examination. It seems that Tottenham have finally agreed to do business at 120m euros which is the equivalent of the £105m demanded by Daniel Levy, now there’s a surprise.

AVB continues building fast, powerful squad. 2

The latest player linked to Tottenham is Etienne Capoue a French International who statistically was one of the most impressive performers last season in the entire French first division. If the transfer goes ahead, as is extremely likely at the moment, he will be another six foot plus addition to the squad and another fast, powerful player able to operate in a number of positions.

Paulinho and Chadli are players of similar build but each operate in different ways and are equally adaptable, along with Sandro and Dembele, Tottenham certainly seem to have a group of players capable of mixing it with any team out there and should rarely be outfought or be lacking in pace no matter who the opposition.

How the transfer season turned against Tottenham. 0

Just for once it seemed as though the transfer window was going to be one of relative tranquility for Tottenham, they snapped up Paulinho early on and had apparently laid the foundations for Chadli and Soldado to join well before the end of July. With those three signings most supporters would have been happy if nothing else happened and Tottenham went into the season as they were.

Tottenham playing without a full deck. 1

Tottenham take on Monaco in today’s friendly which forms part of their pre-season schedule leading up to the start of the new season, already it seems that they have lost the “deuce” and the “11 of hearts” to Seattle Sounders and Real Madrid respectively. In their place will be a reported £110m which is a serious sum of money with which to add others of sufficient quality.

Rather a great team than one great player. 4

Like everybody else my first, second and third reaction to losing the services of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid was one of doom, gloom and disappointment, I would never have thought it possible that he would leave Tottenham just yet as he seemed to believe that he had unfinished business. If what we are reading is anything like the truth then he has shown himself to be just like most other footballers and we should not cling to any hope of him remaining, talk of not wishing to hand in a transfer request for fear of upsetting his faithful fans translates to, if i do i will lose bonuses due from Tottenham written into contract and a cut of the fee.

Tottenham Suarez swoop if Bale leaves. 9

I keep reading that Liverpool and Arsenal supporters are hopeful of Gareth Bale leaving to join real madrid, their reasoning being that as a Liverpool supporter Suarez will have nowhere to go and stay, whereas Arsenal believe it opens the way for them to sneak in and do a deal.

Do something Daniel. 2

Dignity and dealing with transfers in the right way is a trait that should be applauded and that goes for selling as well as purchasing, unfortunately since the end of the last season a certain Spanish club has again been playing dirty tricks on Tottenham in an attempt to acquire their star player. Last year it was Luka Modric, on that occasion it might well have been more about the cost of the player rather than the end result as I suppose most supporters were resigned to the fact that he would leave, although deeply disappointed. Because of the upheaval of the year before, somehow his joining a team in a different league did help.
This year it seems far worse somehow, Gareth Bale is involved and he is a far bigger talent and actually brings lots of goals to the table. Daniel Levy had stated that there would be no sales, AVB confirmed this and players, well Paulinho, have joined with the promise that Bale would remain.
real madrid have been relentless, both their president perez and zidane have continuously courted the player and must be guilty of tapping up! No action has been taken and Tottenham as a whole have said little despite continuous questioning of coach and every player past and present.
Just what is this partnership with a pathetic disgusting bullying club like real madrid all about, what benefits do Tottenham receive in the deal, it seemed that AVB fancied the services of Jese so real madrid sign him up to a new deal, pathetic and small minded, if the Bale scenario were true surely he might have been included in any offer or better still the partnership involve a loan deal at the least.
In the world of Daniel Levy it seems that actions speak louder than words and it is implied that he is working on a new contract for Bale that will conclude the matter for a year at least, he stated that Modric would not be sold to Chelsea and stuck to his word, the line is the same for Gareth Bale and all the players actions and contract dealings away from Tottenham suggest it.
Every Tottenham supporter is tired of this constant battering and concern, every year is the same Modric(twice) Berbatov, Keane, Carrick and now it’s Gareth Bale, even AVB is becoming irritated by the constant barrage.
What I don’t quite get in all this is the fact that there can be no doubt that Gareth Bale is already a fantastic player and has the potential to become one of the greats, why then is it only real Madrid causing such grief from every quarter, why are other teams with unlimited funds not in the frame for him? Manchester City, PSG and Monaco could all afford him as could United or Chelsea if they wished to take on Levy, but no it’s just the second team in Spain and also rans in the Champions League causing all the fuss and uncertainty.
Please Daniel Levy sign Bale up or at the very least bring a complaint against this tacky club and reiterate the player is not for sale. Tottenham are closer than have been in thirty years to glory and regaining their position as one of the great and successful clubs of Europe, perez and his dirty tricks must not be allowed to stall the process as has happened before. Time for action and words.

Defoe admits to more signings, but who and where? 0

Posted on July 28, 2013 by Tony

Jermaine Defoe was obviously all the rage following his hat trick in Hong Kong this morning. He confirmed that he was looking forward to an exciting season ahead and expected a top four finish and Champions League football at the end of it. He seems assured of his position within the squad and there seems little likelihood of his leaving this summer, he was of course one of the players who launched the new kit along with Gareth Bale, Brad Friedel and Michael Dawson the club captain.

First of three Tottenham deals completed. 0

Posted on July 26, 2013 by Scraggs

Today was the turn of Nacer Chadli to sign his contract and become a Tottenham player, he is the second player signed this summer and will become an integral part of the squad but it is anticipated that he will be the first of three new deals this week alone.
