Tottenham ready to go again. 0

This time last year Tottenham supporters were experiencing very mixed emotions, high expectation and extreme hope for the season about to get underway. Just the season before a record points total had been accumulated and our own Gareth Bale had at last had a breakout season becoming a great player, goalscorer and gamechanger, he had always been a bit special but now it was different. Bale and the new signings were still expected to lead our challenge though the interest of Real Madrid earlier dismissed as papertalk was starting to become a reality.None of that changed a thing, AVB had started to prove himself, we had some new big name additions and there was the promise of more to come even if Bale left.

Tim “Woe is me” Sherwood is not confident! 2

As we approach the end of the season Daniel Levy and all the other powers that be will have to make an important decision regarding the direction Tottenham will take in the new season, the key decision will be the identity of the man to coach the squad going forward. As we all know by now, Tim Sherwood has told us many times, he is in situ at the moment and has the best win ratio of any coach in the clubs history, forgetting to add that he has taken on the strongest squad assembled in decades and that he took over a team just 5 points from 4th and 8 points from top, differences that have deteriorated despite him ramming down our throats how well he has done.

Sherwood deserves time! 7

I have to admit that Frank de Boer has opened a can of worms and should have remained silent on the prospect of being considered, and he probably is only under consideration at this time, for the Tottenham coaching position that seems likely to become available once the season is over. Before his “leak”  Tim Sherwood had already run to the press to speak out against the likes of Van Gaal and Hoddle expressing their interest in the job even though that was  in December!  The timing of Sherwood’s outburst

Timid Tim proclaims himself “The Greatest”! 2

Tottenham should count themselves extremely lucky to have had Tim Sherwood on hand when AVB could take no more intereferance and walked away from the job, he stepped in, steadied the ship and apparently turned around the fortunes of the club as well as introduced a much more cultured and attractive style of football! His win record of 58% makes him the best Tottenham manager of all time though he conveniently overlooks elimination from three cup competitions as well as big defeats to three of the top four teams and two further defeats against the other Arsenal. If that constitutes success and proclaimed greatness then all Tottenham fans should look forward to huge disappointment in the future.

Tim’s man management skills shining through. 11

Only yesterday Tim Sherwood hailed Adebayor and Hugo Lloris as the only Tottenham players worthy of a place in the Tottenham lineup so undermining the ability of every other professional at the club, today we saw what he meant regarding Lloris who was the busiest keeper on the park and pulled off a number of fantastic saves but he other so called irreplaceable player Adebayor yet again failed to test the opposition goalkeeper and all his worthwhile involvement in the game occurred in midfield areas, the one effort he made to set up one of his own players, Soldado, late in the game resulted in a turnover to Fulham, indispensible Adebayor is not.

Will somebody please gag Sherwood 0

During today’s press conference Tim Sherwood had little to report yet still managed to feed the media controversial comments, today it was the turn of Erik Lamela to be ridiculed by the man who is trying to follow the Redknapp route to becoming a media darling. Due to injury Sherwood admitted that he had only been able to assess the youngsters ability for a matter of a few weeks but still felt the need to question his ability, forget that others had already decided that his potential was sufficient to invest an initial outlay of about £24m, with more to follow based upon future success, is he seriously trying to undermine all those that were involved in parting with such an enormous amount. Is a World Cup winner like Ossie Ardilles wrong to suggest that he could one day be a huge star and is genuinely excited that he joined Tottenham?

Tottenham in the news 5

The name of Tottenham Hotspur was much in the news again yesterday though none of it relating to hopes and dreams for the remainder of the season as 5th, 6th and 7th is all that is left to play for after all the hype and hope in the summer transfer window. There was the news yesterday that Ledley King would be handed a testimonial by Tottenham to be played on May 12th between a Ledley guest eleven against the current squad and with tickets at respectable prices and proceeds going to good causes of his choice this is one testimonial that is fully endorsed from all aspects.

Sherwood continues to take on Tottenham players! 7

Although it is by now abundantly clear that Tim Sherwood is not up to the task of coaching Tottenham it still seems that he is intent on marginalising some of the squad and by being retained, even in the short term,  is probably setting up a summer of unrest. Though Daniel Levy has stated that there will be very few changes come the summer there are likely to be a fair few of the players feeling let down by the club and look for the exit door.

Wenger out, Sherwood out! Smiling Martinez set to dominate. 0

It’s funny how Arsenal supporters were bold and brassy on Tottenham sites only a couple of weeks back but are now conspicuous by their total absence, too busy posting comments of unhappiness and unrest about Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal board to worry about us as their season has turned to mush, well almost, though they still have the small matter of the FA Cup to compete for. That drubbing at Chelsea has finally brought home the truth to their supporters that they are a million miles from being title competitors and that the purchase of their £43m superstar was as we said at the time simply a cover up and a panic buy to take the pressure off the management team.

Great Tottenham result patches over the problems. 4

Yet again the headlines read “great Tottenham comeback” which follows on from other similar headlines of late like “Tottenham responded well to early setback” or ” Tottenham threatened a fantastic fightback”, the truth of the matter is that we all want to see more headlines of the nature of ” Tottenham controlled the game from start to finish” or ” Tottenham win never in doubt after taking early lead” It is a fact that Tottenham are the only club not to have scored in the first fifteen minutes of any game this season and though it is important and necessary to have the fight to comeback from falling behind it is becoming a situation all too familiar.
