Tottenham came so close. 4

Yet more revelations from Harry Redknapp about his time at Tottenham all courtesy of the Daily Mail who are promoting his new book. As usual it contains the same old stories, you know the ones that we have all heard a hundred times before and dismissed as rubbish, what might have happened at Tottenham  really has no bearing on his current club QPR’s demise as they sit bottom of the Premier League, surely another book on his life in football ought to wait until he has retired or before you know the next and hopefully last chapter will be of another relegation.

Sources report Levy tells friends that Bale won’t wear Madrid shirt this year. 3

The fantasy continues as more friends and international teammates spill the beans to the newspapers as to Gareth Bales thoughts on his hoped for transfer, the upcoming internationals provided newspapers, so called journalists and pundits the golden opportunity to modify old stories and stir up the current situation still further. Bale is apparently confused and upset that Tottenham have not yet agreed to sell him to Real Madrid , so much so that he has confided in his Welsh teammates that he will never wear the Tottenham shirt again.Next we shall hear that he has not submitted a transfer request out of respect for the club, which we all know is complete rubbish.

Carragher believes Suarez should sign for United or Chelsea. 0

In Jamie Carragher’s article in the Daily Mail today he suggests that Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is actually too good to play for Liverpool and Arsenal and if he were to leave it should be to a club not only playing in the Champions League but capable of winning it. He goes on to say that should the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern Munich seek to buy him then Liverpool should not stand in his way. Obviously he did not actually say that he should be allowed to sign for United or Chelsea but by his own distorted argument that is what he implies as being a reasonable solution.

300,000 reasons per week why Bale is deserting Tottenham 4

Posted on August 07, 2013 by Scraggs

There has been some concern recently as to why Gareth Bale might be leaving Tottenham after two good and one exceptional seasons in more than six years at the club, it has been indicated that Real Madrid have promised him a six year contract and £150,000 per week, those discussions without permission from Tottenham and seemingly between the players agent and Madrid which is against regulations, that sum has always seemed a figure that could and would be matched by Tottenham in any new contract. For the past year Tottenham as a club, AVB and the squad have accommodated the strengths of Bale resulting in what seems betrayal by the player just as everything seemed to be falling into place.

So far a quiet day, some of the squad warmed up with a comfortable 6-0 win in Hong Kong to take third place in the competition, Jermaine Defoe started up front and helped himself to a hat-trick with other goals coming from an OG, Townsend and Dempsey. It was again a poor pitch but relatively safe after the Tottenham groundsman did his stuff and ensured that it was playable and more importantly safe.

£170m to spend and nobody to spend it on. United and Arsenal struggles. 6

There have been numerous reports of the enormous transfer funds available to two of the giants of English and European football, Manchester United have stated that a spend of £100m or more is easily handled and is permitted if the new coach David Moyes so wishes. Early on in the transfer window it was reported that a derisory offer was made for the England left back Leighton Baines, this was immediately refused and there was allegedly a backlash internally from Patrice Evra, most upset as would be expected, since then everything has been very quiet, no increased bids or talk of a possible deal.

Suarez £50m, Higuain £34m, Soldado a bargain at £24m. 1

On the face of it the price quoted for Roberto Soldado, reputed to be in the region £24m, would appear to be extremely high for a player who will be twenty eight years of age by the time the season starts. Last summer United paid a similar sum for Robin Van Persie, a player with a tremendous goalscoring record and proven in the Premiership but also a year older and in the final year of his contract at the time.

Madrid must make do with Suarez, Bale is happy at Tottenham 1

With so many mixed messages coming out of Anfield and from Suarez’s agent it is left to us to listen to the player himself when trying to decide what the future holds for him. The club and his agent seem to be suggesting that the player is very happy on Merseyside whereas Suarez own attitude smacks of a player readying himself for the exit door.

Another award for Bale. Aldridge and Keown must be gutted. 0

So Gareth Bale has now also won the Football Writers Player of the Year award which must have come as a huge shock for Martin (you must win a trophy to take part) Keown and John ( he’s a cheat but Suarez is an angel) Aldridge.
