Villas-Boas has stated his intention to go far in this competition and so a strong team will be chosen allowing the full use of the squad and trying out different options. The new season is almost upon us and the first game is now immenent, it is a difficult one against probably the biggest surprise package of last season.

Newcastle have bought well recently and have a potent midfield and forward line, against a team like Tottenham who possess players of great pace if Newcastle have a problem it is probably a lack of pace defensively.
