Please Tim find a job, any job and forget us. 3

Whether it’s as a pundit on Sky or in various newspaper articles, Tim Sherwood cannot let the past go, just like Harry Redknapp he cannot find much to talk about other than Tottenham. Today in the Express he has tried to enlighten us with words of wisdom and has almost written off the season for Pochettino and Tottenham, apparently he believes we have missed the boat and the opportunity to challenge Liverpool for top four and a champions League spot!

Sympathy for the “Tottenham 3” 0

When Tottenham parted ways with Andre Villas-Boas in December last year Daniel Levy had very few reasonable alternatives to fill the gap, it is fairly well known that he tried to secure the services of Louis Van Gaal at the time, but with a World Cup in Brazil for him to look forward to he declined at that time though even then he was probably made aware of possible United interest if Moyes continued to fail. Tottenham seemed to prefer to wait for either Van Gaal or at least until the close season to finally choose the successor going forward.

Where will the best coach Tottenham ever had end up? 1

Odds on to get the WBA job and if not that then the job at Brighton was apparently his for the taking following his sacking from the Tottenham job, weeks later and Tim Sherwood is still looking for work other than an article in the paper on the World Cup that still manages to talk up his time at Tottenham.

WBA appointed Alan Irvine of Everton while Brighton went with Sammi Hypia while Tim must sit and wait for an opportunity again. Presumably he will be using this time to obtain the coaching badges that he actually needs in the long term and hopefully he will find a decent opportunity to develop his management skills somewhere soon.

Sorry Tim I’m not buying it. 12

Some of us probably guessed what was likely to happen when the team was announced yesterday with what was a very strange lineup partially forced upon the coach by the unexpected absence of Moussa Dembele and the continuing injury problems of Christian Eriksen. The starting lineup and positions that the players were asked to take up meant that no less than four of those starting were played out of position andyet though they could have found themselves a goal or two down after only five minutes up until the first goal the performance was encouraging as Tottenham dominated possession though made little of it as usual.

Sherwood “Townsend is our new Bale ” must now pick him. 0

Tim Sherwood has been very vocal about the return to fitness of Andros Townsend and rightly talks up his impressive form and just how much of a difference he might make to the performance of the team, Townsend has been nothing short of sensational for Tottenham and England this season and only needs more goals to really secure his status as one of the stars of the season.

In quotes published by the Express, the Spurs boss said:-

“Andros can do something different. He can go past people, turn a bad performance into a fantastic result like Gareth Bale did last year.”

Sherwood confirms Holtby has a Tottenham future but has the coach himself? 0

As it seems likely that this transfer window is likely to come and go without even a Tottenham whimper it is at least encouraging to hear that although Lewis Holtby has gone on loan to Fulham, it is confirmed that it is just until the summer and thereafter Fulham have no automatic right to buy him.  While at the moment Holtby might not be considered to be an automatic choice to start games most fans would not be upset to see him named in any starting lineup as he usually has an impact on games whenever he is involved, his attitude and effort can never be doubted, he is creative and he is capable of scoring a few goals, in fact the more I write and consider the impact he has had the more I am doubting the wisdom of this loan!

It’s over to you Tim, make us proud. 3

We all have an opinion on the recent events at Tottenham but the decision has now been made and it’s back to business. We have a very winnable game tomorrow against WBA, a team who also sacked their coach last week and have a caretaker in place and are a team who have never won at Tottenham since the the Premier League was formed, in fact they haven’t won at White Hart Lane since 1984.
