It looks as though Tottenham are about to ruthlessly reduce their player staff with Pochettino having no more time remaining in which to assess the squad at his disposal, with little more than a dozen hours of the window remaining at least 8 of our senior players are linked with exits. Some are obvious exits as they have failed to make their mark, others might be looking for the exit door having failed to establish themselves in the team and want more time on the pitch.

Tottenham transfer news of the day. 3

As usual Tottenham are heavily involved in the news when it comes to transfer gossip and because our Head Coach said a short while back that he needs to streamline the squad, much of the news is of potential outgoings. Just when it seems that Lewis Holtby is proving himself to be an asset to the team and proficient in the Pochettino way of playing it is suggested that he has been told to find a new club, strange when he has been actively involved in just about every pre-season fixture and was an important member of the squad and team for the opening fixture.

Harry Kane has today committed his immediate future to Tottenham and signed a new deal that expires in 2015 and that will finally put paid to rumours of a switch to QPR in return for Loic Remy. during todays press conference Mauricio Pochettino was clear in that he values the ability of Andros Townsend and is expecting big things from him in the coming seasons, he is another that Harry Redknapp might like to have and was the other part of the swap deal for Remy!, crazy when you consider that Remy

Over the years manySpurs players and ex-players have appeared on TV singing, many have been involved with the entire team along with Chas and Dave the most famous of all probably being “Ossies Dream”. Others have taken it a step further and released singles like the duo Hoddle and Waddle and then Gazza with “Fog on the Tyne”. One of our current players Sandro is always happy to post his work singing and playing the guitar and we can remember him leading the Brazilian squad on an impromptu sing-a- long during the Olympics a couple of years back.

Firstly, even though I wished for something totally different, congratulations must go to Arsenal for a thoroughly deserved victory, they held all the aces throughout the match and even though their second goal came from an error even a schoolboy would cringe at, in truth there was only ever likely to be one winner.

Krul luck for Tottenham as goal woes continue. 14

Another defeat and possibly another situation when AVB has been swayed by the media to change his lineup. Brad Friedel was called into the team to start his first game of the season while Gomes was his deputy on the bench, even though Lloris had been declared fit days ago and had said that he was ready to play. Lloris is the ultimate sweeper keeper and had he been out there it is very likely that he would have been far sharper from his line and cleared the Remy danger before it had a chance to happen. the same thing happened against West Ham when Defoe was brought into the lineup and the rest is history.

How many Tottenham changes versus Hull? 4

AVB made seven changes to the team that began Thursdays Europa Cup tie but with the prospect of a Capital One Cup fixture on Wednesday against the same Hull side just who will he pick for this Premier League fixture. Andros Townsend, Paulinho and Kyle Walker were excused the journey on Thursday and will all be certainties to start the game but who else do we expect to start.

England lifted by new generation. 3

For so long now the English media and retired professionals have led the public to believe that there was little hope for the national side, they have drummed into us all the point that that there are few players out there able to replace the ageing stars of so many other fruitless campaigns in the World Cup and European Championship. We have forever been informed that experience of Champions League football and years of top Premiership football is essential to make it in the England team and then along came Andros Townsend to ram those words down their throats. Townsend played in just twelve Premiership games for QPR last season and six for Tottenham this season so far, over the course of the past few years he has been involved at some point in just eleven Europa League games but because of injuries to Theo Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and even Aaron Lennon and for no other reason, Roy Hodgson took a chance on including Townsend in his England squad and because of what he produced in training actually chose him for duty in two vital games, how he has been rewarded with the player producing two outstanding performances and more than that, alongside Rooney, Sturridge and Welbeck helping to transform the team ethos into a fearless attacking side.

Does Townsend gamble show England the way? 3

For too long now England have made do with the old guard and settled for the easy option, imagine if Theo Walcott had been fit yesterday would Townsend have got any closer than the bench at best? This situation has gone on for years and continues to happen, England coaches seem to settle for the easy option and players that have been there and done it , irrespective of their form going into internationals.

Will Salah be a January transfer target for Tottenham? 4

Posted on October 10, 2013 by Random Spurs Supporter

Mohammed Salah of Basel has been linked with a transfer to Tottenham for much of the past six months or more, AVB could not have failed to be impressed by his destruction of the Tottenham fullback in the quarter finals of the Europa League last season, especially in the first leg at White Hart Lane, since then he has continued to progress and was instrumental in helping his team defeat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge quite recently, he scored the first goal for Basel and was their most impressive player by some margin.
