Premier League Predictions Round 15. 2

Posted on December 08, 2013 by Eddie S

Another poor set of predictions yesterday but sometimes you have to wonder what is going on, this season is so unpredictable that you are hard pressed to know what is round the corner. United losing at home twice in the same week and for the third time already this season while Chelsea ship goals for fun and to the amusement of those of us who support a team without a billionaire backer. Manchester City remain unrecognisable while on their travels and really were fortunate in the end not to suffer another away defeat.

Is Benteke on his way to training or to Tottenham? 0

Well today could be the day that Tottenham finally announce the signing of their new centre forward, it is the hoped for deadline given by the player or the day he must return to train with his current Villa teammates. There has been much speculation as to Tottenham offers or more like the lack of offers, but none of this actually rings true, the player, his agent and even Villa are all fully aware of Tottenham interest and have been for some time, it is probably likely that a deal and fee is close, maybe even agreed while Villa go about finding their replacement.

Tottenham miss out on Villa shock. 3

Well none of us really saw that one coming as Barcelona have announced that terms have been agree with Atletico Madrid for the services of David Villa, the fee is understood to have been set at 5.1m euros and nothing like the 15m that was the declared fee demanded of Tottenham. Apparently this fee is only payable in full on completion of the full 3 years of his contract and Barcelona will receive 50% of any future sale.

Are Tottenham about to pull off incredible double transfer? 1

Some will remember 1978 for a wonderful World Cup in Argentina when an exciting home side pulled off a sensational triumph, it was also the year of the ticker tape welcome for Argentina as they walked onto the field of play. 1978 for Tottenham fans was also the year when the club was promoted from the old second division following a year in exile from division 1, but perhaps equally important and as exciting was the transfer coup that Tottenham pulled off by signing 2 World Cup winners Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa. I was there when they made their entrance at Nottingham Forest and was stunned by the amount of travelling support for that first fixture. Nottingham was lit up by Sombreros and the ticker tape entrance afforded the Tottenham team.
