Tottenham are no one man team.

Posted on April 25, 2013 by Tony

Whilst Gareth Bale has been nothing short of sensational this season and especially since November in particular, it is more than a little unfair to describe Tottenham as Bale F.C. Would it be fair to describe Manchester United as a one man team simply because RVP is their top goalscorer and has also won them so many points with crucial goals, or Liverpool who without Suarez and his goals and assists would be nearer the relegation zone than European football, even Chelsea have Juan Mata with 18 goals and a dozen assists but he is hardly a one man team in a squad of expensive stars.

The reality is that most successful teams have an abundance of quality players and generally one special player who really makes a huge contribution to the team. Just how many trophies would Barcelona have actually won without the mercurial Lionel Messi, how would they really fare without the huge number of goals he has scored over the years. Cristiano Ronaldo over in Madrid is another similar player, Real rely hugely on his goalscoring record as did United before he left them.

Tottenham are fortunate in that they now have a number of outstanding talents, players like Dembele, Sandro, Lennon, Vertonghen, Lloris, Walker and plenty more, they have had the occasional world renowned player such as Berbatov and Modric in the recent past and they now have Gareth Bale who already has even more in his locker than either of them, he is a player without any obvious weakness, if we must be picky then he massively favours the ability in his left foot.

Luckily for Tottenham the entire club really does seem to be on the rise, they are constantly beating the top teams and look like they are now ready to mount a serious challenge for major trophies, because of this the fear of losing such an outstanding player is not so pronounced as nowhere else is there a challenge like the one at Tottenham, in place is a top quality management and coaching team, a young squad full of exceptional talent and more importantly players hungry for success. Now that AVB has bedded in and it is clear that he has what it takes, Tottenham and Daniel Levy will back him in the transfer market this summer, just how much might well depend on achieving a top four position but irrespective of that back him they will.

Tottenham are clearly not a one man team but they are one of the very few clubs that has a truly world class player and one that can win games on his own, he might not yet be of the standard of Ronaldo and Messi but he is closing in on them. He is only ever associated with a transfer to the best 3 or 4 teams in European football and those with enormous wealth which is a clear indication that Tottenham have a very special player.

Bale F.C. the team from White Hart Lane will be cutting a swathe through Europe next season as well as leading a charge on domestic trophies.
