Tottenham in the news

Posted on April 19, 2014 by Scraggs

Much of the recent speculation has surrounded the expected replacement for Tim Sherwood for next season with the Italian equivalent of the Mail causing a run on a supposed agreement with the sacked AC Milan coach Allegri having agreed a deal to be the next for the hotseat. apparently Baldini is the driving force behind the appointment a man who only last week was reported as being the next for the chop, so what is it to be? almost certainly neither.

It has been reported that the Italian “giants” Roma are keen to secure the services of Paulinho for next season as they anticipate losing the services of Pjanic to PSG. Now Paulinho has not quite lived up to expectations but has hardly been the disaster that many suggest and he will only be better after the initial season of acclimatisation. When all the experts point to players from other countries needing time to settle why would Tottenham contemplate selling having gone throught that process? the funniest part of all is that these “giants” don’t want to actually buy Paulinho but take him on loan with a view to buying if he is a great success! does that sound like a giant? they have the funds from selling Lamela and one or two other last season and another massive amount from the impending departure of Pjanic and they want to borrow a Tottenham player!

Paulinho and Dembele still have important role to play

Paulinho and Dembele still have important role to play

One of our disappointing signings of the past Sergei Rebrov has been handed the coaching role at Dynamo Kiev after the sacking of the previous man in charge and we wish him good luck and hope that if he has any diamonds in his squad that he will give Tottenham the nod.

As the season fizzles out to a disappointing ending most of the excitement this week has centred around our old boys at Real Madrid and in particular that goal from Gareth Bale that won the cup, in the absence of Ronaldo he took the opportunity to show the fans of Madrid just what they are missing when he is isolated on the right, given the opportunity to pick out the weakness in opposing teams from a free role we know just what Bale can do, we saw runs like that against Barcelona

He won't be forgotten.

He won’t be forgotten.

often during his time at Tottenham. It was hard to take at the time and he perhaps could have handled the situation better but you have to admire his ability and wish him well, hopefully the money raised and spent from his sale will work to our benefit next season when the players bought will have  settled, learned the language and will be coached and led by somebody with far greater ability and experience than we have now.
