Tottenham struggling for funds to buy!

Posted on July 14, 2013 by Eddie S

Sometimes the tripe written amazes me, today the People are suggesting that the delay in selling Adebayor is causing problems in their pursuit of Christian Benteke. Apparently because the sale to Besiktas has not yet been finalised the lack  of funds is now holding Tottenham back! what are Tottenham going to be receiving as a fee for Adebayor £4/5m, didn’t the purchase of the two young Croatians from Dynamo Zagreb just fall through and were Tottenham not going to pay an alleged £17m for potential alone?

So for the here and now the suggestion is that Tottenham are scratching around for enough money to buy a striker, they will spend it on a couple of 17yr olds who might or might not turn out good enough to play in the first team in 3 or 4 yrs but leading up to a huge season, a season when quite possibly the continued  participation of Bale, AVB and a couple of other top players depends on the outcome, they are financially moronic in where they allocate their available transfer fund.

Last season it was not just agreed but was shouted from the rooftops that Tottenham were a striker light for the entire season, based upon the goal tally alone, not workrate because that was exemplary, Adebayor might be moved on if possible, it is certainly not a given and not in order to buy a replacement.

Let us not forget that every club in the Premier League will be receiving at least an extra £30m in TV revenue this season, probably £40m in Tottenham’s and the other higher placed teams cases. With the huge reduction in wage outgoings with the the older high earners either leaving or having already left, like Gallas, Bentley, Jenas and quite possibly Ade, Parker and Huddlestone the wage bill will be trimmed still further , others will come in of course and some of last years squad could well be rewarded with better deals, but financially struggling I think not.

There is obviously no suggestion that Tottenham can or will compete with the filthy stupid rich, but by the same token Tottenham have always been happy and able to spend big when the need arises. Levy will not allow the club to go into hock but it seems that now that he finally has a world class coach he will provide the tools to let him do his stuff.

Whether it be Benteke, Soldado, Negredo or Martinez that Tottenham or AVB decide upon Levy will sanction the deal and Tottenham will fund it and it won’t be as suggested dependant on selling so called fringe players.

We reduced our wage bill by offloading Jenas,Gallas and Bentley, but Pau added and Bale’s new contract will eat most of it. Bentley did not give us any returns too. Rest players we want to offload need buyers, Ade will cause issues as he did at Arsenal and City, to keep his wages intact and thats a problem to potential buyers. Parker and Huddlestone, or a few other names doing rounds to be offloaded is not done deal yet, its not fantasy football we are in. I bet we have money, and Levy wants the best possible available players to be bought. But market is inflated for the likes of PSG, Monaco, Real, City and Chelsea. Top players dont come for less transfer fees or less wages. And ofcourse, we do not have ENOUGH money to buy top players. Need to sell 1-2 players, add to our remaining funds and buy a TOP striker, we are done for the season.

most of the special players already sold once psg get cavani, lewandowski wants bayern, suarez want madrid. agree Spurs are in the next tier of clubs living in the real world. psg, monaco, madrid, city and chelsea cannot be complying with financial fair play but will manage to get round it because they have money and that, wrongly, means power. Of course Levy has the money to spend but he won’t brag it because he is a businessman and will look to save what he can.

completely agree, but FFP will not hurt these cheaters, they will work their way around as City did with the Etihad deal. So, we will always be in the next tire if we dont WIN something
