Tottenham team to face Hull 2

Posted on October 29, 2013 by Tony

Like all great box office hits tomorrow will see the follow up of the weekend blockbuster Tottenham versus Hull, this time it is a cup encounter and hopefully Hull will treat the fixture with a little more adventure than they managed to show on Sunday. As is always the case and the right thing for the club and their supporters Steve Bruce will go into this cup encounter with one eye on Saturdays fixture at home to Sunderland, a fixture that he might expect his team to triumph in and gain a further three points toward Premiership survival his major target.

Hull will make a number of changes to the team that took to the field at White Hart Lane over the weekend as will Tottenham and AVB but with a far stronger group to choose from. How many chaqnges will AVB make for this fixture, seven or eight seems to be the magic number although with Younes Kaboul and Danny Rose not quite ready and a question mark over the fitness of Zeki Fryers perhaps not as many changes will occur as you might expect.

It was good to see some of the pictures on the Tottenham website of Etienne Capoue back in full training but it is likely that this game comes a little too early into his rehabilitation from what turned out to be a rather lengthy layoff. Surely the time has arrived to give Emanuel Adebayor the chance to show what he can do and as he also offers the team a different option to either Soldado or Defoe he could be an important member of the squad in the coming weeks and particularly over the Xmas period when the games come thick and fast.

Whatever way you look at it the Tottenham team that takes to the field tomorrow will be substantial favourites to get a result especially with home advantage although traditionally two games in quick succession against the same opposition often ends in a complete turnaround in performance and result. Hopefully due to the likelihood of so many Tottenham changes in personnel for this fixture and their ambition to feature in the Premier League starting eleven we might see an exciting performance and the result we all hope for.

As a result of AVB’s comments even thought he crowd numbers might be down slightly the atmosphere should be electric as the supporters will hopefully respond to his demands and show what they can do from the stands. A couple of the starting eleven could probably do with a boost in confidence and a riproaring encounter to bolster their confidence and help them settle in their new environment, this is our team selection based on the fitness of players known at this point in time.

In ur formation siggy will most likely play as an attacking midefielder.

  2. whlspur says:

I doubt you could pick a poor Tottenham lineup these days. Hope Harry Kane gets some game time.

  3. Boobaspur says:

I too would like to see Adebayor get a run out. It would be great to see him have a good game and perhaps get a goal or two. Either way, it would be nice to see what he performs like.
