Tottenham v West Ham preview and team selection.

Posted on October 05, 2013 by Tony

On Sunday Tottenham welcome West Ham to the Lane in a game that will hopefully keep them in the chase for a position very near to the top of the league. After a sightseeing trip to Russia and a difficult fixture by virtue of the fact that the pitch was atrocious it is a return to action on the bowling green that is White Hart Lane.

As always this will be a tough fixture against a team set up by Sam Alladyce to make life difficult for the opposition especially away from their own ground. Obviously there will be a number of changes once again and the team that starts will be relatively fresh, with an international break immediately following this fixture it will be important to finish on a high, an early goal would certainly help and if that were to happen perhaps the Hammers might be the team that feels the full brunt of the attacking power of this Tottenham side. with Roberto Soldado left out of the Spanish squad what better incentive does he have to finally hit the goal trail, especially with a trip to Brazil waiting at the end of the season.

Team prediction v West Ham 6/10/2013

This will be Tottenham’s sixth fixture in just seventeen days and with four wins and a draw, eleven goals scored and just the one conceded the opportunity is there to continue into the break with an amazing run of results. when the squad all meet up next Kaboul, Lennon, Adebayor and Capoue should all be fit and available for selection.

West Ham are finding life difficult at the moment being unable to find any type of consistency in front of goal, they invested a huge sum on Andy Carroll but he is still to appear for them following injury, with the incredible defensive record Tottenham take into this game and the difficulties West Ham have in finding the net you can just guess that Tottenham are likely to concede. It is important to sign off for a while with a dominant performance and a win to keep the pressure on those ahead and behind in the table.

It is unlikely that the team will differ much, if at all, to that we are predicting although hopefully a few of the players on the bench will have the chance to show what they can do in a good team performance.

AVB has not totally ruled Danny rose out of the game rating him at 50/50, with an international break ahead he might just be tempted to take a chance if those odds improve significantly.

Guaranteed starting lineup unless Rose recovers from injury.

These are the kind of games where we shouldn’t be dropping points

    • Tony says:

the type of game that has really cost us last few seasons when losing to the likes of Wigan, Hull, Blackpool and Fulham, it has to stop nothing less than a win will do, would like to see a few goals as well to really make their mark.
