Who next for Tottenham?

Posted on December 16, 2013 by Tony

Apologies for our lack of response to the news that AVB has been sacked, unfortunately we experienced a technical hitch at this most crucial time but are back now. As most of you know many of us at JTN did believe in the AVB vision and there is some disappointment that he was unable to deliver, that is for no other reason than we need some stability and a coach that can take us where we want to be. There can be little doubt that this is a great squad of players and as a result of this upheaval some will go and there will be even more comings and goings in January.

Only time will tell if Levy has made the right decision or if he can get the right man in to save the season, the position is still very good no matter what others might think, it just isn’t good enough and the three home defeats to West Ham, Newcastle and Liverpool as well as that 6-0 drubbing has done for him. I honestly believed the team had turned the corner but yesterdays performance was in all honesty a shambles and it cannot be denied.

It has been announced that Tim Sherwood will take the reins temporarily and it will be interesting to see how he fares, some have believed that he was being groomed for the job at some time in the future but I am not so sure. The problem for now is just who is available, these pundits talk the talk but can’t do the job, will we see ¬†Hoddle return ? will it be Capello

As a supporter this is a sad time as we wanted and needed somebody to create a dynasty and it seemed so many things were in place, the timing is wrong with the World Cup at the end of the season there might have been better options available then. Daniel Levy and the other powers that be obviously believe that by taking action now that they could still achieve all the targets that they have set with the players that they have.

JTN has stood by AVB as he was our coach and we believe that that whoever leads our club should be entitled to every fans total and undivided loyalty, now he has gone and we await news of our new leader but until then we support our players and Tim Sherwood.

    Where’s hiddink these days?

  2. spurs says:

its not tim sherwood, he was demoted to midfield consultant. freund is our new caretaker but frank deboer is now in talks, laudrap is a possibility but would have to be broken out of an expensive contract and capello want 200k per week so he wont get it either.

what did i say?… now look who has egg on their face, u should let me write for this forum… atleast i know what im talkin about, all my predictions have come true just like i told you in august… you say you had technical issues? you didnt- you were just shocked to finally realise what all us true fans knew was happenin months ago and went quiet so you could put you’r usual spin on it… kaboul sandro soldado paulinho dembele lemela capoue chadli etc etc have all cost avb his job due to a total lack in performance, you argued with me that football is not about goals, what the hell are you talkin about tony… you need to get real and start seein things for what they are, i dont agree with redknapp jnr and his contradictin rant as he fails to question the real issues which is levy, enic and joe lewis… one thing the media has got right is the validility of the signins bein avb’s, i said this all along that avb did not sign them players, any true spurs fan knows they had levy and football director written all over them just like when levy bought in 9 new players for jol (hassan ghaly, mido, malbranque, edgar davids, davies, kaboul, zamora, doherty, clemence) that got him sacked the next few seasons after just as he has done to every manager since he was appointed chairman by joe lewis in 2004… its the same pattern once again- buy flops or future investments in bulk without breakin the 640,000 quid per week wage bill then expect a manager to work with them for 2 to 3 season without strengthenin until the manager is sacked, levy has allowed all our best players to be sold on and has not signed any brilliant goal scorin striker partnerships before or since berbatov and keane in 2006, he chose to get in ex arsenal scum like adebayour n gallas also which shows what type of guy he is… a skinflint and a tyrant with little knowledge of football or spurs as a team, hes usin spurs as a way to line his and enic’s pockets with big sponsorship deals (9 in total) then not puttin in any return into the club, yes enic have improved our position but its all for the wrong reasons, 1 league cup, 2 4th place and 3 5th place finishes is not that great considerin over 900mil has been spent (poorly) since enic took over from sugar who was another idiot…

    • syphax says:

Levy is the problem for sure. Constant meddling with player signings. He needs to leave the football to them that knows what they’re doing and stick to doing what he ought to be doing – like getting us a new stadium and increased revenue streams.

      • Tony says:

There is little doubt he is a financial genius but the people advising him on football matters should be the ones accountable here. AVB said in so many words that he had no involvement in player recruitment and there has been interference from above. Baldini and sherwood have had a hand in this and if they do get it wrong then they should also pay the price. Don’t get me wrong I don’t wish it on them and hope we have a great season BUT if they get it wrong they will have to suffer the consequences also.

I dont agree with all you say ot agree some of your figures but some of your points are reasonable on this occasion. At least you admit AVB didnt bring in the players. Contrary to what you believe we dont mind other views on here as long as they are not personal and remain within the boundaries of decency. How about you email us a piece from you to publish giving your view and I will do so in fact anyone out there who would like to just send an article as an attachment by email to justtottenhamnews.co.uk.
